At the second Air Silk Road International Aviation Cooperation Summit, guests from many countries, including Armenian Ambassador to China Sergei Manasa and Egyptian Ambassador to China Mohammed Badri, attended the meeting through online and offline forms, and spoke highly of the development of China's aviation industry and foreign cooperation with data and factual cases.
At the summit site, Armenian Ambassador to China Sergei Manasaryan said that in the past few years, China has been Armenia's second largest trading partner. The Armenian freight and logistics market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4% between 2020 and 2025. Air cargo will contribute a solid share of this growth. The growth of trade with China is one of the drivers of the growth of the logistics industry. Manassaryan said: "Even in 2020, when world trade was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, Armenia has strengthened its trade with China. In 2020, the volume of Asia-China trade increased by 2% over the previous year, and Armenia's exports to China increased by 50%. In 2021, compared with the same period in 2020, the total trade volume increased by 34% in the first half of the year, and exports to China doubled. Most of the trade is carried out by road and sea, but the share of air freight is growing and the potential is huge. This advantage will be further expanded after the establishment of direct flights between Armenia and China. ”
Egyptian Ambassador to China Mohammed Badri said through a video message that Egypt and China are both great ancient civilizations, with a long history, and have made positive and outstanding contributions to all mankind. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1950, the partnership between the two countries has continued to develop and cooperation in various fields has been increasing. Since China's reform and opening up, Egypt and China's aviation industry have a deep history of cooperation. But now that the COVID-19 pandemic is raging around the world, the aviation industry is facing unprecedented challenges. He pointed out that in order to fight the epidemic, the aviation industry will help transport medical supplies and vaccines to all parts of the world, for example, China can be seen sending medical teams to many countries and assisting medical supplies, which is both an advantage and a strong development of the aviation industry has become a top priority.
