During the Northern Song Dynasty, the Liao state, an ethnic minority in northern China, continued to invade the south, and the two countries often fought wars. There was a general named Han Chang in the Liao State, who led his troops to fight and attacked the city and plundered the land, which was a very set. However, he met the famous Song Dynasty general Yang Yanzhao, and he was unlucky.

Yang Yanzhao ranked sixth among the brothers, so people called him Yang Liulang. For many years, he guarded the Reverse Horse Pass in Tang County and the Bauhinia Pass in Yi County, where Han Chang fought for many years, and he could not open an opening, so he had to find another way. Han Chang changed the course of his attack, swung his division southwest, crossed Pingxing Pass and Wutai Mountain, and came straight to the direction of Longquan Pass, trying to open the mouth from Longquan Pass and then attack the North China Plain and the Central Plains.

After Liu Lang received the information, he explained the deployment of the Fallen Horse Pass and the Bauhinia Pass, and immediately led the men and horses to rush to Longquan Pass.

Longquan Pass is an important town in the west of Fuping, an important pass of the Taihang Mountains, the only way from Fuping to Jin or from Wutai to Jin, known as the throat of Jin and Hebei, the eastern gate of Wutai Mountain, a Buddhist holy land, the strategic location is very important, and it has always been a place where soldiers must fight. However, during the Song Dynasty, Longquan Pass was still just a small town, and there were no fortifications such as walls and checkpoints.

Yang Liulang is worthy of Yang Liulang, he arrived at Longquanguan Town and saw that there was no danger to defend here, and the town guard Longquanguan could not stay in the town and wait for being beaten, but must control the passage from Longquanguan to Wutai County. So, the first thing to do is to find a few local elderly people to inquire. The old people told him that there was a mountain path in the direction of Heiyagou that could lead to Wutai Mountain, but the mountain was steep and not easy to pass; there was a tree-lined path behind the Camel Bend through the LiaoDao, which could also pass through Wutai County, but the mountain was dangerous and there were very few pedestrians; the main passage was Xiling (that is, the Great Wall Ridge, which had not yet been built at that time, called Xiling), marching and fighting, through business, and people generally took this road. After Rokuro understood the terrain and immediately began to deploy.

He analyzed that the two small roads behind the Black Cliff Ditch and the Liaodao Road were dangerous, and Han Chang's brigade was not easy to pass, and besides, Han Chang had just entered the territory of Wutai County, and he did not necessarily know these two trails. However, in order to prevent the unexpected, Yang Liulang still sent some troops to guard these two directions, and he led a large group of men and horses to Xiling.

When you look at Xiling, the mountains on both sides are steep, and a small road in the middle curves to the top (at that time, there was no large lane, let alone a road), and the Wutai County west of the top was not wide. Yang Liulang felt that this place was not suitable for horseback combat, so he left a small number of warhorses, most of which were sent back to Longquanguan Town to raise them. He thought to himself, this time he must let Han Chang suffer a little.

It is said that Han Chang led the brigade to Shi Tsui, and did not dare to venture forward, so he had to camp on the spot. Before anyone could be sent to inquire about the news, the Song army called out in front of the camp. Han Chang saw from a distance that the other coach seemed to be Yang Liulang again, and he was so angry that he yelled, "Good you Yang Yanzhao, Cheng Xin can't get over with me, where I fight, you are out, today I have to let you taste my past harm." Han Chang was dazed, regardless of the three seven twenty-one, he brought people and horses to kill and run. The Song army did not count the battles, so it turned its horse head and went east to defeat, Han Chang chased after it, turned a few corners and disappeared this Song army, when it reached Xiling, but found that there was a small road in the valley east of Xiling to Longquan Pass. Han Chang was overjoyed, and he stood on the ridge and encouraged the soldiers to say, "There is a heavy reward for entering Longquan Pass." When the soldiers heard this, they jumped off their horses and rushed to the valley together.

Han Chang saw that most of the soldiers and horses rushed down the valley, and he was about to get off his horse and move forward, when he overheard a cannon sound, and then the thunder and stones on the mountains on both sides rolled and rolled, and they smashed into the Liao army, and for a time, the whole valley people shouted horses, and the ghosts cried wolf howl, and made a mess. "Not good, it's a good bet." Han Chang shouted and fled back to the Shizui camp with only a few escorts.

In this way, most of the Liao army that went deep into the valley was smashed to death, and the rest were also captured by the Song army.

Originally, Yang Liulang saw that the area around Xiling was not convenient for horseback combat, so he asked the soldiers to pile rolling stones on both sides of the mountain top in advance. He also selected a soldier from the army who looked exactly like himself, took a group of men and horses to challenge Han Chang to lure the enemy, and sat in Xiling to direct the battle, and indeed succeeded in one fell swoop.

Later, the people around Longquan Pass made up a passage of smooth words:

Rokuro Rokuro Honji Dai,

Mention the name Liao Bing afraid.

Wisdom and courage are all invincible,

Frightened Han Chang did not dare to fight.
