Liu Jiang, an old actor from Bayi Factory who played a role in "Tunnel Warfare", "Shining Red Star" and "Breakthrough Wujiang", passed away this morning at the age of 95.

Born in Harbin in 1925 to a poor urban family, Liu Jiang went to society early to earn a living, worked as an apprentice, and worked as a worker in the post and telecommunications department. Liu Jiang has loved literature and art since childhood, and his interest in movies and dramas is particularly strong. At the age of sixteen, he joined the Harbin Beidou Amateur Experimental Theater Troupe. He has played minor roles in dramas such as "The Eve of the Incident", "A Letter of 100,000 Yuan", "Escape", and "The Sorrow of Youth". In 1946, the Northeast Democratic Coalition Army liberated Harbin, and Liu Jiang joined the Literary and Art Work Group of the Political Department of the Songjiang Military Region. He has successively played various types of positive and negative roles of soldiers, squad leaders, instructors, landlords, enemy and pseudo-officers in operas and operas such as "The White-Haired Girl", "Mutual Assistance Between the Army and the People", "Niu Yonggui Injured", "Harvest", and "Qian Yongfu Goes Home".

In 1958, Liu Jiang was transferred from the Guangzhou Military Region Repertory Theatre to the Bayi Film Studio and began his career as a film actor. For more than 20 years, he has participated in the shooting of more than ten films such as "Sea Eagle", "Huimin Detachment", "Chifeng", "Breakthrough of Wujiang", "Ordos Storm", "Bitter Cauliflower", "Tunnel Warfare", "Shining Red Star", "Fire Baby" and so on. He has successfully created a series of negative characters with distinct personalities, and has become one of the film actors in the Chinese film industry who is known for being good at playing negative characters.

He played Captain Li in "Chifeng", Commander Tang in "Tunnel Warfare", and Hu Hansan in "Shining Red Star". When playing the role of Hu Hansan, he mobilized a lot of life accumulation related to this image. In particular, he heard and witnessed in the northeast tug-of-war area the atrocities of the homecoming regiment's counterattack, burning and looting, and the image of a bully landlord and bandit who drank wine with people's hearts caught when he was suppressing bandits in Guangxi, as the basis for shaping his characters. Thus, the image of Hu Hansan, a restoration maniac, jumped on the screen and left an extremely deep impression on people.
