General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out: "The core values are actually a kind of morality, which is not only the virtue of the individual, but also a kind of great virtue, that is, the morality of the country and the morality of the society. As the research result of the "National Social Science Foundation Annual Project", Professor Huang Jin's book "Looking for the Spiritual "Homeland": A Study on the Core Values of the New Citizen Class" is based on the individual moral concern of specific groups and the overall concern for the development of social ideology, taking the construction of socialist core values as a systematic project, and conducting a deep examination of the social identity and career changes of the new citizen class. The whole book has both concise and broad meanings of "setting the topic", as well as a profound interpretation of the modern theory of values, which is a vivid interpretation of the core values of socialism from moral "introspection" to spiritual "homeland" consciously inhabited.

This work is committed to the interpretation of the social dynamic mechanism of "The Journey of the Great Avenue", from the dynamic sources of social structure, preference, exclusion, mobility, change, etc., revealing the "new citizen class", which is accompanied by the geographical transfer of its living space, the value ecology and transformation dilemma in role consciousness, ideological concepts, social rights, behavior patterns and production, and lifestyle, and then explores and studies the self-value adaptability and value integration path in the value divisions of politics, economy, culture, ecology, rule of law, etc. The flow of social values in the transition period is depicted and operated, and the major contradictions and conflicts in the current value field are reasonably responded to.

The work adheres to the spiritual city-state construction law of "avenue to simplicity", not only seeks and displays the source of the development of social core values in a specific group, but also highlights its realistic refraction in terms of constituent elements, ideological behavior and exemplary role, etc., and proposes a methodology that conforms to China's national conditions in the new era for the paradigm construction of value laws and their measurement standards in the development of urbanization. While decoding the spiritual world of the "new citizen class", it has the thickness of historiography and the delicacy of interpreting the "Chinese story" and showing the "Chinese spirit" from a humanistic perspective, and reflects the powerful power of the core values to warm the soul, show the light, and urge people to forge ahead.

The work follows the moral sentiment of "gentlemen obey the tao", and in view of the fact that our country is currently in a period of great development, great change, and great adjustment, the unprecedented complexity of the ideological field brought about by the profound changes in the international and domestic situation, and the situation in which various ideologies and cultures stir up each other and the exchanges and exchanges between different civilizations become more frequent, it tries to clarify and construct the "spiritual homeland" for the people, embodying the responsibility and feelings of social science researchers and educators in colleges and universities in the new era. From this point of view, the significance of this book is not only to help find a spiritual home belonging to a specific group of people, but also to provide a heavy spiritual testimony for the spiritual power of the core values of socialism to unite people's hearts and gather people's strength.
