Jin Aizong completed Yan Shouxu: a martyred monarch who has no sense of existence in history

author:Gaokaimin

Emperor Aizong of Jin (1198–1234) was the ninth emperor of the Jin Dynasty. He should be regarded as an emperor with a very low sense of existence, and the scene at the time of the fall of the Jin Kingdom was no better than Jing Kang's shame, presumably this was also the Heavenly Dao Cycle.

After the death of Jin Xuanzong, he became emperor at the age of 25 at the age of 25, and changed his era name to Zhengda the following year. Emperor Aizong was a relatively accomplished emperor, and after taking the throne, he encouraged agricultural production, stopped the war of aggression against the Song Dynasty, reconciled with the Western Xia, carried out internal reforms, eradicated traitors, reused famous anti-Mongolian generals, and recovered a lot of land, so that the Jin Dynasty presented a new scene.

But by this time Mongolia had risen. Guanyan Shouxu changed the policy of the previous generation towards the Southern Song Dynasty and Western Xia, ceased war with the Song and Xia, sought reconciliation, and tried to resist the Mongols.

After the Mongol army captured the Western Xia capital of Chengxing Province, it immediately swung south. In the fourth year of Zhengda (1227), after the Mongols destroyed the Western Xia, they went all out to cut gold, and after several battles, the main force of the Jin army was lost, and the good generals died, and they could no longer compete with the Mongolian army. The Mongol army quickly surrounded Fenjing, the Jin army held out for nearly a year, the plague in the capital was raging, the food was tight, a total of fifty days, more than 900,000 people were transported from the city gates, and the poor could not be buried were not included. In December of the same year, Emperor Aizong of Jin fled Beijing and later moved to Caizhou.

In the first month of the third year of Tianxing (1234), Caizhou had been besieged for three months, and the city ran out of food. On the night of the ninth day of the first month, Emperor Aizong of Jin knew that the day of the fall of the country was coming, and he did not want to be the king of the fallen country, so he issued an edict to the emperor to complete Yan Chenglin, who initially insisted on pushing back, and then Emperor Aizong of Jin pleaded bitterly, saying: "Entrusting jiangshan sheji to you, this is also a last resort." He was obese and could not go out on horseback. In case the city falls, it will be difficult to break through. Considering that you used to be physically fit, and you have a general's strategy, if the state is lucky enough to escape, you can continue the national zuo, this is the intention of yuan. Therefore, Yan Chenglin could only agree to succeed to the throne. The next day, Chenglin was ordained to take the throne as emperor.

On the eleventh day of the first month, the song army flag had been erected in the south of Caizhou City, and the ministers urgently resisted the enemy. The Song army broke through the south gate, the Mongolian army attacked the west city, and the two sides launched a fierce street battle, killing on all sides. The generals of the Jin Army stubbornly resisted, and almost all of them were killed in battle or martyred by suicide. Jin Aizong martyred himself and died at the age of Chinese New Year's Eve seven.

In obedience to Emperor Jin's will, the close attendant cremated his body and buried his remains in Runan. Another is that the Meng general Ta Cha'er and the Song general Meng Jue saw that after burning Yan Shouxu's body, they rushed forward to extinguish the embers, picked out the remaining bones, divided them into two, and took a copy back to repay the merits. According to the "Collected Histories" edited by Rasht, the prime minister of the Mongolian Ilkhanate, Tachar received only one hand from the Jin Dynasty. Most of the remains of Emperor Aizong of Jin were taken back to the capital Lin'an Taimiao by the Song army.

Before guo died, Jin Aizong said something self-congratulatory: "I have been a man for ten years, and I know that there is no greater evil than evil, and there is no hatred in death." What I hate is that the state society will be extinguished to me, and the same as the king of the absurdity and tyranny in the past will destroy the country, and people will be indignant about it! ”

In Chinese history, little is known about The Jin Dynasty, an emperor who has no sense of existence in history. However, Emperor Aizong was not a faint prince, and the decline of the late Jin Dynasty was fixed, and Emperor Aizong was unable to return to heaven, and eventually the kingdom was broken and died. He was also a dignified king of the fallen country, who killed himself to martyr the country, and his situation was similar to that of the later Emperor Chongzhen of Ming Sizong. However, people only know that there is the Chongzhen Emperor, and they do not know that the Jin Dynasty is also known.
