In 2016, for the 400th anniversary of the death of the world's literary hero Shakespeare, before the global commemoration, the National Museum of Taiwan Literature cooperated with the British Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (SBT) to present Shakespeare's literary theme exhibition in Taiwan for the first time, introducing Shakespeare's life's literature and drama creation, and presenting the historical Taiwan relevant Shakespeare's theatrical performances and research publications. Combined with the international cultural relics display and exchange and domestic artistic achievements, the world-class literary masters will be brought to Taiwan, and Taiwan will also be brought to the world stage.

Shakespeare's work is one of the very few great plays that can be performed on stage without adding or subtracting polish. "Shakespeare Theatre" selects live videos of well-known domestic theater troupes such as Contemporary Legend Theatre, Heluo Gezi Theatre Troupe, Yu Opera Troupe, Guoguang Theatre Troupe, etc., reinterpreting Shakespeare's famous plays, presenting through different kinds of performances, spanning between the East and the West and different cultures, and the exchanges impact a new theatrical charm!
