On July 9, 2016, the third batch of "Confucius Institutes" awarding ceremony in Hunan Province was held at the Confucius Institute of the Research Center of Traditional Chinese Studies of Central South University, and Xiangtan Yunlong Experimental Middle School was listed as one of the recipients. Liu Jixiang, principal in charge of the junior high school of the school, went to attend the ceremony, and Liu Xiaoting, vice president of the Traditional Culture Education Branch of the Confucius Foundation of China, personally awarded the medal. At this point, the first "Confucius Institute" in Xiangtan County settled in the school.
"Confucius Institute" is a public welfare social education platform founded by the Confucius Foundation of China, with the main goal of cultivating and practicing the core values of socialism and carrying forward the excellent traditional culture, and the purpose of promoting and inheriting confucius's excellent educational ideas.
Since 2009, Xiangtan Yunlong Experimental Middle School has taken the excellent traditional Chinese culture as the carrier and insisted on carrying out a series of traditional culture activities with the theme of "reciting classics and inheriting civilization" into the campus, so that the essence of traditional culture is internalized in the heart and externalized in practice, and learning and carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture has gradually become the characteristics of the school.
After recommendation and inspection, Xiangtan Yunlong Experimental Middle School was approved to set up a "Confucius Academy". After the awarding ceremony on the same day, Liu Xiaoting took a group photo with Liu Jixiang. Liu Xiao heard that the establishment of the "Confucius Institute" is a spur, encouragement and expectation for Yunlong's future education, and hopes that teachers and students in the school will jointly build, co-create and share, so as to promote the normalization and long-term development of the role of the Confucius Institute.
At 2 p.m. on the same day, Zhang Zide, chairman and principal of Yunlong Experimental Middle School in Xiangtan County, led the administrative staff to the school gate to greet the "Confucius Institute" plaque. He said that the school will invest sufficient financial, material and manpower to do a good job in the later management of the Confucius Academy, ensure the sustained and long-term development of the school construction, so that the "Confucius Academy" will truly become a cultural school, an education school, an exchange school, and a practice school, and strive to build it into a cultural position for inheriting and carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, indoctrinating and opening up a new style, and fully display the style of learning and carrying forward the excellent traditional culture formed by Yunlong over the years.
