At the beginning of the founding of Li Tang, poetry was still in the style of the former dynasty's wilting and flashy style, and the Tang Dynasty literati began a difficult revolution. Nowadays, when people mention Tang Dynasty poetry, most of them refer to figures such as Li Bai, Du Fu, Bai Juyi, and Yuan Shu, but before these people, there was no shortage of talented poets in the early Tang Dynasty.
These poets of the early Tang Dynasty were more like entrepreneurs, laying an indestructible foundation for the later prosperity of Tang poetry, and among the poets of the early Tang Dynasty, the most famous poets were the four masters of the early Tang Dynasty: Wang Bo, Yang Jiong, Lu Zhaolin, and Luo Binwang.
What is interesting is that Yang Jiong, who ranked second in the four masters of the early Tang Dynasty, once said a sentence: I am ashamed to live in front of Lu and ashamed of the queen. Wang Bo was the prodigy talent who wrote the "Preface to the Tengwang Pavilion" in an instant, and compared with Wang Bo, Lu Zhaolin's popularity was much smaller.

In the third year (663) of Emperor Gaozong of Tang's reign, he promoted Lu Zhaolin with a talented Lu Zhaolin to the post of New Governor of Yizhou, where he met the daughter of the Guo clan whom he loved all his life. The Sichuan Shu wuhua tianbao, the spirit of the people, not only gave birth to countless famous literary masters who shocked Huaxia, but also nourished countless fascinating stories of infatuation.
The spring rain is silent, the love is lingering, and the worldly talent encounters a confidant with a red face who is in love at first sight, and the two promise the mountain alliance and the sea oath, and the white head will not leave. "Jinli opened a feast, Lan Juanyan's early years." The colors are far apart, and the light is far away. The stars of Han doubt fell, and the building seemed to hang like a moon. Don't have a thousand golden smiles, come to reflect the front of the nine branches. Lu Zhaolin, who was favored by love, wrote this song "Fifteen Nights to Watch the Lights", and the woman he admired stood between the lights and shadows, and the flickering fire illuminated the girl's face like the moon.
When there is love in their hearts, men often hope that they have more powerful strength to protect their lovers for a lifetime. No longer satisfied with the current situation, Lu Zhaolin couldn't bear to kiss his beloved Guo daughter and went to Chang'an to participate in the "canon selection", hoping to become famous in the dynasty and achieve a strong and colorful stroke in the history books.
In the "Old Book of Tang and the Biography of Wang Bo", a sentence by Pei Xingjian, the examiner of the canonical selection at that time, was recorded, and when everyone was amazed by the talent of the four masters of the early Tang Dynasty and thought that they would definitely achieve something, Pei Xingjian, who was known for his knowledge, said: "Although Bo and others have literary talent, but impetuous and shallow, will they enjoy the instrument of the Lord!" Yang Zi was calm, should be the commander, Yu De ling was finally fortunate. In a simple translation: Pei Xingjian believes that among the four masters of the early Tang Dynasty, only Yang Jiong can make a county order, and the other three are fierce and difficult to have a career. There are too few poets in the Tang Dynasty who have been favored, and Lu Zhaolin has already surpassed many people in the first half of his life, but his good fortune has also ended here. From the moment he left Shudi and went to Chang'an, the impermanence of fate had already hung over his head.
Lu Zhaolin, who had not yet participated in the election, was shocked to hear the news of his father's death, and had to go through the mourning, and then although he traveled between the two capitals, he never found the opportunity to return to the official field. At this time, the situation of the Tang Dynasty also underwent earth-shaking changes, Wu Zetian fully controlled the situation, Li Tang was in danger, and Wu's cronies were like the sun in the sky.
Just as Pei Xingjian said, Lu Zhaolin, who was too low in political sensitivity, was unaware of the political situation in which "if he was a little worse, he would suffer a disaster", admiring the prosperity of the imperial capital and the flow of the characters, and also feeling that he did not meet with self-cherishing talent, and it was difficult to express his ambition, he wrote the poem "Chang'an Guyi", which stunned history. "If you have to die, you only envy the Mandarin Duck and not the Immortals." Such a delicate love verse comes from this, and I think that when Lu Zhaolin wrote this sentence, he must be thinking about the spring rain in Sichuan Shu and the girl in the dim light.
"Chang'an Guyi" is the externalization of Lu Zhaolin's full of talent, which can be compared with Luo Binwang's "Imperial Jing Chapter" of King Luo Bin's famous Man Jinghua, but it is also this poem that makes the weak-hearted magnate Wu Think twice and be angry, and the sudden prison disaster catches Lu Zhaolin, who is proud of the spring breeze, off guard.
After all, it is a world-famous talent, after all, it is the son of the born family, Lu's connections for many years are not vain, although there are several twists and turns, but finally rescued Lu Zhaolin. Lu Zhaolin, who had never experienced a catastrophe, was frightened in prison, and soon after his release from prison, he suffered from wind disease (probably leprosy), a disease that is terminally ill even in modern times, instantly invaded Lu Zhaolin's body and was never eradicated like a maggot of the tarsal bone.
Compared with the disaster of imprisonment, the torture of wind and disease is even more desperate. A person who is proud of the world because of his talent cannot accept the process of soberly feeling that everything is gradually disappearing, but he is powerless.
First, he was completely unrecognizable, he was no longer the young talent who had been privately bound to Guo's life; then he was half-dead, he was no longer the literati who could appreciate the mountains and rivers and point out the rivers and mountains; finally, with a weak hand, this arrogant and indomitable soul was finally completely locked by the broken flesh.
Lu Zhaolin's literary style also changed suddenly, he no longer sought a career, nor did he send love to the landscape, let alone be spirited. He had only one thought left—to live, to live as a human being.
It was too difficult, the idea was too difficult for Lu Zhaolin. Because his illness was powerless even for the medicine king Sun Simiao, there was no one in this world who could save him.
In order to avoid the world, he moved into the depths of the Taibai Mountains, bought dozens of acres of good land, and built a tomb for himself, and the flame of hope burning in his heart became weaker and weaker. Maybe it is better to die than to live as an ordinary peddler pawn, but Lu Zhaolin is different, and this way of living is not better than death.
It was another mournful rain, and the raindrops fell on the yellow leaves floating in the mountains, making a rustling sound. Lu Zhaolin, who was tortured by the disease into an inhuman form, lay quietly on the hospital bed, listening to the gentle sound of rain, and his thoughts flew back to the land of Sichuan and Shu.
"Remembering Yangzhou Yangzijin, yaosi Shu Dao Shuqiao people." All the love will eventually come back, such Lu Zhaolin has no way to return to Shudi, let alone give his beloved Guo a future, he can only hide his thoughts in the poem, thousands of miles away to wish his lover well-being. "If you have to die, you only envy the Mandarin Duck and not the Immortals." His love can only be continued by countless idiot men and women in later generations.
Lonely and brave, full of ambition and difficult to reward, Lu Zhaolin wrote the "Five Sorrows Text", and then shook hands with his relatives one by one to say goodbye, and also said goodbye to this Datang who had given him glory and disappointed him.
The moon is rare and the stars are rare, and everything is silent. Lu Zhaolin crawled hard with his only mobile hand to the Yingshui not far away. The moonlight spread like silver on the water, and some night herons were startled by the sound and flew deeper into the night. In the misty mist, Lu Zhaolin finally looked back at the old house, and finally reminisced about his life, and then plunged into the water.
The water ripples and stops for a moment.
It was as if nothing had happened in the world.
But the world knows better than anyone that Lu Zhaolin is gone.
Datang no longer had Lu Zhaolin.
