Chapman smiled and nodded. Four hours later, when Lennon returned to his residence from the studio, Chapman got down on one knee and fired five bullets at Lennon's back from close range. Soon after, Lennon was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Muhammad Ali, (1942-2016), 74 years old, this photograph of Muhammad Ali was taken by his daughter Hana on May 22, 2016. Ali was hospitalized for respiratory illness on 2 June 2016. Although his condition was initially described as minor, his condition subsequently deteriorated and he died of septic shock after 74 days of treatment. Ali suffered from the effects of Parkinson's disease from 1984 until his death.
Christopher Mccandless (1968-1992), 24 years old, was found in his camera with christopher McCandless, who had ventured into the Alaskan wilderness alone. In August 1992, he set out along an old mining road called the Stampede Trail, using up the least amount of supplies, hoping to eventually leave the land, and his story would later be told in the book before being filmed in the film Survival in the Wilderness.
James Dean (1931-1955) At the age of 24, this photo of James Dean at the gas station was taken on the day of his death. Dean is an avid driver who loves racing. He died on September 30, 1955, while driving the Porsche in the photograph to avoid an oncoming car.
The photo on the left was taken on April 3, 1968, on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, when Martin Luther King, Jr. stood with other civil rights leaders. A day later, he was assassinated in about the same place. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where doctors opened his chest and performed CPR. He never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m. on April 4, 1968.

Jackson had planned to give a series of comeback concerts to more than one million people at London's O2 Arena from July 2009 to March 2010.
Anton Yelchin (1989-2016), 27, is the last selfie he posted on Instagram. Three days later, on June 19, 2016, the 27-year-old Russian actor died in a car accident in Southern California, where Yelkin's jeep collapsed in his driveway, trapping him in a brick-and-column mailbox and security fence. The jeep crushed his lungs and he is believed to have died in a one-minute impact.

He was sitting in a Porsche GT sports car driven by his friend Roger Rodas, when the vehicle lost control and crashed into the side of the road and hit a telephone pole and caught fire and caused an explosion, killing both of them together. Princess Diana (1961-1997), 36 years old, was seriously injured in a car accident in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris on 31 August 1997. This photo of her car speeding at the Ritz Hotel in Paris was taken when Princess Diana was looking back at the chasing paparazzi. A few seconds after the photo was taken, the car drove into the tunnel and the driver lost control and crashed into a pillar. Diana was seriously injured but died in hospital that morning.
Prince (1958-2016), 57, was Prince's last photo taken outside his Walgreens Pharmacy near his home in Minnesota. He spent the last few hours alone at home and was found unconscious in the elevator more than 13 hours later. Deaths from overdose of opioid painkiller fentanyl showed no signs of suicide or foul play.
Tupac Shakur (1971–1996) 25, age, was shot four times in a car in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. Six days later, Shakur died of his injuries while in hospital.
