In Zhang Mingmin's heart, there is always a Chinese heart.
Zhang Mingmin was born in Hong Kong in 1956. His hometown is in Yinglin Town, Jinjiang, Fujian Province. His father worked as a clerk in an import and export trading house in Hong Kong. His mother, an Indonesian returnee, is from Anxi County, Fujian Province.
Zhang Mingmin has two older sisters and three younger brothers, and when he was a child, his family was not rich.
At the age of 7, Zhang Mingmin went to a Huaqiao primary school in Guangzhou and learned to speak Chinese. After graduating from elementary school, he attended the Industrial Secondary School and worked in an electronics factory after graduation.
As a child, he loved to sing and had a talent for singing. Due to his family's difficult circumstances, he did not receive formal musical training.
At his house, there was an old-fashioned radio. He often intently hummed songs along the radio. As he grew older, his love of music did not cool down, but became even hotter.

Zhang Mingmin learned the singing method of popular songs.
In order to buy a ticket to a concert, he can save money for three months.
Later, he entered Therond's door and became a musician.
In 1979, he participated in the Hong Kong Workers' Singing Competition. It's an amateur singing competition. His singing voice, appreciated by the judges and loved by the audience, won the championship title in one fell swoop and attracted the attention of the singing world.
His name is on the Dragon and Tiger List of Outstanding Singers of Radio Television Hong Kong.
A record label called Eternal record recorded his first music album, Country Road.
This was the beginning of his fame.
In February 1983, the staff of the Hong Kong Youth Federation approached Zhang Mingmin to record a patriotic song, "My Chinese Heart".
Because I didn't find the right person, I found Zhang Mingmin's head. Zhang Mingmin fell in love with this melodious song.
He began singing in the cabaret.
He tried to sing songs in Chinese, and was snubbed by the audience.
At that time, in the Hong Kong music scene, singing in Cantonese was the mainstream, Cantonese songs were popular, and Chinese songs were only niche styles.
Someone advised him to change his singing style and sing Cantonese songs.

Zhang Mingmin was unmoved.
In 1982, when the Japanese side examined and approved the textbook, it distorted the facts and glorified the history of aggression. Zhang Mingmin recorded his second album "The Chinese Nation" and expressed his indignation and protest with his songs.
This music album won the Golden Disc Award.
Among them is "My Chinese Heart".
He was able to go on the stage of the Spring Festival Gala and had a legendary experience.
The first Spring Festival Gala was held in 1983. Huang Yihe is the general director.
In 1984, Huang Yihe was still the general director of the Spring Festival Gala and wanted to innovate. He read in the newspapers that Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom had visited Hong Kong.
He also saw the news that China wants Hong Kong's return. He decided to invite a Hong Kong singer to come to the Spring Festival Gala.
To this end, he went to Shenzhen to investigate, and after a period of time, there was no gain.
One day, he took a taxi, and the driver turned on the car stereo. There is an uplifting melody in the stereo.
It is this song "My Chinese Heart".

Huang Yihe was shocked. He asked the driver that this was the single "My Chinese Heart" sung by Hong Kong singer Zhang Mingmin.
He bought the tape, returned to Beijing, and recommended it to the leader. Finally, CCTV finalized and invited Zhang Mingmin to participate in the Spring Festival Gala of 1984.
After Zhang Mingmin accepted the invitation, he was uneasy. He was afraid that if he didn't sing well, he would lose face.
His mother advised him to rest assured that singing on the stage of the motherland was equivalent to a trip back to his mother's house, and there was something terrible about it.
Zhang Mingmin sang "My Chinese Heart", which became popular overnight in the mainland. But at that time, Hong Kong and the mainland were isolated from the news, and he remained unknown in Hong Kong.
His singing is like the warm sun in winter. The uplifting lyrics and the melodies give people the feeling of jumping and running on the ridges.

After the song became popular, Zhang Mingmin's situation did not improve much. He is still unknown in Hong Kong. He returned to work in the electronics factory and insisted on singing with his Chinese in his spare time.
In 1984, he accepted the invitation of Beijing Youth Daily to hold a solo concert in Beijing. At the concert, "My Chinese Heart" became the main song.

As early as the early 1980s, Zhang Mingmin got married.
His wife was originally a teller at a bank. Zhang Mingmin met her at a dinner party and pursued her passionately.
He was banking and had to run to her window. Once raw, twice cooked. The two realized the familiarity, patted for two or three years, and smoothly entered the marriage hall.
Whether Zhang Mingmin is brilliant or frustrated, she accompanies Zhang Mingmin and does not abandon her.
Married for many years, they loved each other as before. Even if there is an occasional quarrel, it will be reconciled quickly.
From marriage to now, Zhang Mingmin has never given a gift to his wife. Zhang Mingmin said that he did not understand the courtesy, and if he bought a gift for his wife, her wife would definitely think that he had done something bad outside.
He and his wife, there is no barrier.

Zhang Mingmin also sang a lot of musical works.
Among them, there are singles such as "Send You a Handful of Dirt", "Earth", "Qinghai Qing", "Ballad of the Great Wall", "Manjiang Hong", "A Cut of Plum" and so on.
He prefers national songs and prefers things with national characteristics.
He has a fiery patriotic heart.
In 1988, Beijing organized the Asian Games.
Zhang Mingmin heard about this and decided to hold a concert tour to raise funds for the Asian Games. He used three large container trucks, loaded with audio equipment, which lasted more than a year and traveled to 24 cities across the country.
With no money to start, no sponsors, he negotiated with his wife and mortgaged the house.
His wife said to him:
"Just sell it!"
She sold her house and car and raised HK$5 million.

The concert has three performances a day. It took more than a year and a total of 154 performances, and Zhang Mingmin handed over more than 600,000 yuan earned to the Asian Games preparation team.

For a while, Zhang Mingmin, his wife and children lived with his parents.
With some of the money she earned from commercial performances in the mainland, Zhang Mingmin began to do business in Hong Kong. He has run nightclubs, tea restaurants, lounges, public relations companies and many other industries.
Through years of primitive accumulation of capital, he entered the field of investment. Among the many projects he has invested in is a biotechnology company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
