On the evening of June 9, Chen Xu, secretary of the party committee of Tsinghua University, who came to Xiangxiang to inspect and witness the signing of the agreement on the joint construction of campus land between Tsinghua University and Changsha, took time to visit and greet the representatives of tsinghua alumni in Xiangzhou and held a discussion with everyone.
The symposium was presided over by Xu Yueheng, the general representative of the alumni of Tsinghua University in Xiangxiang. He reported to Chen Xu and his party the basic situation of Tsinghua University's Hunan alumni and the strategy of taking root in Hunan and serving the "three highs and four new". More than 10 Tsinghua alumni representatives from different units and industries such as grassroots, enterprises, and institutions made speeches. During the period, Chen Xu interacted with everyone from time to time, and the atmosphere was warm and active.
Chen Xu pointed out that on April 19 this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Tsinghua University and delivered an important speech, which is an important milestone in the history of Tsinghua University's development, and also points out the way forward for the development of higher education and the construction of first-class universities in China. Tsinghua University will conscientiously study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, strive to be at the forefront and make an example in cultivating a phalanx of first-class talents, building a first-class university system, enhancing original innovation capabilities, and adhering to openness and cooperation, handing over a qualified answer sheet to the party and the people, and living up to the general secretary's entrustment. It is hoped that the alumni of Xiang tsinghua University will follow the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, shoulder the historical mission, strengthen their confidence in moving forward, and set great aspirations, great virtue, great talent, great responsibility, and great cause.
Chen Xu also introduced Tsinghua University's new achievements in a series of fields. She said that Hunan and Tsinghua have deep roots, and the construction of the Tsinghua Alumni Association in Hunan has achieved remarkable results and the alumni career is thriving. I hope that everyone will uphold the motto of their alma mater, spread the spirit of Tsinghua in Sanxiang and Sishui, establish the image of Tsinghua, contribute to the strength of Tsinghua, act as a vanguard in promoting cooperation between schools and provinces, and make greater contributions to the "three highs and four new" strategy of Hunan.
It is understood that there are currently about 1,700 alumni in Xiangqing University, and the symposium was attended by representatives from various fields among Xiangqing Tsinghua alumni, including 11 selected students who served the grassroots.
