Jimu News trainee reporter Huang Zhigang
Standing on the side of the road chatting, the road suddenly collapsed, and half of his body fell into a deep pit. A few days ago, Ms. Wang, a citizen of Wuhan, encountered this shocking scene. After the incident, Ms. Wang went to the hospital for examination, and the doctor diagnosed that she was injured by a fall in the waist and needed to stay in bed. Ms. Wang complained through the citizen hotline, and the Wuchang District Urban Management Bureau responded that the road surface collapsed because the Wuhan Power Supply Company did not restore the road surface as required after construction, and said that the Wuhan Power Supply Company had backfilled the collapse. After the reporter's on-site investigation, it was found that half a month after the road surface collapsed, the collapse site was still surrounded by a fence and did not restore its original appearance.

Collapsed pavement that has been backfilled
Standing on the side of the road chatting, the road suddenly collapsed
"As usual, standing on the side of the road chatting, the road suddenly collapsed, and half of my body fell into a deep pit." On September 8, recalling to reporters the shocking scene that occurred at the door of her own storefront in late last month, Ms. Wang still had palpitations.
Ms. Wang's storefront is located at No. 24 Huangli Road, Guoguohu Street, Wuchang District, which is an urban secondary road. She said that at noon on August 21, she and Ms. Jiang, who were in the neighbor's storefront, stood on the sidewalk of the road and chatted. Too late to prepare, and without any warning, the pavement on which she was standing suddenly collapsed. With a scream, Ms. Wang's right thigh fell into the deep pit, her waist stuck in the collapsed hole, and half of her body tilted.
"There was a sharp pain in the inner thighs and waist, and the whole person was stuck in the deep pit and could not move." Ms. Wang said that at that time, her mind was blank, her emotions were flustered, and her right leg that fell into the pit was dangling, and the slippers on her right leg fell into the bottom of the pit.
Watching Ms. Wang, who was standing in front of her, fall into the deep pit, Ms. Jiang on the side panicked, and she rushed closer to the deep pit to drag Ms. Wang up.
With the help of Ms. Jiang and the shopkeeper next door, Ms. Wang was slowly pulled into the pit, but the severe pain in her waist and legs made her dare not move a point.
The Jimu News reporter saw from the video provided by Ms. Wang that the diameter of the collapsed cave was about 30 centimeters, showing an irregular circular shape, and the inside of the cave was distributed with groups of cables and pipes, and the bottom of the hole was pitch black, and the depth could not be confirmed.
The reporter visited the field, and half a month had passed, and the road had not been repaired
After Ms. Wang, who was in excruciating pain, went to the hospital for examination, the doctor diagnosed a waist fall and injury, asked Ms. Wang to lie in bed and recuperate, and prescribed her rehabilitation treatment drugs. Ms. Wang, who went home and was bedridden for more than 10 days, had some relief from her waist injury, and follow-up arrangements were made for physiotherapy to recover.
Ms. Wang's medical records
Ms. Wang said that the road surface at the good end suddenly collapsed, and the relevant departments wanted to give an explanation. So, the day after she fell into the pit, she called the citizen hotline to complain. On August 28, the citizen hotline said in its reply: On September 2, the staff of the Municipal Section of the Wuchang District Chengguan Bureau conducted an investigation and verification. After investigation, the location where the collapse occurred belonged to the State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company's failure to restore the road surface as required after construction.
Ms Wong complained to the Public Hotline
The reply message also said that at present, the State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company has arranged for the backfilling of the collapse and is negotiating with Ms. Wang to deal with compensation-related matters.
On the afternoon of September 8, the reporter saw at the road site where the collapse of Huangli Road occurred that the collapse was located on the sidewalk of the road, and warning signs such as fences and cone barrels had been set up. Nearby residents said that half a month later, the collapsed pavement was still unrepaired and full of safety hazards.
A collapsed pavement that has been fenced off
Some witnesses said that about a week ago, the relevant construction personnel of the State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company backfilled the yellow sand into the deep pit at more than 1 a.m., "poured two trucks of sand into it, and the hole was not filled." The witness told reporters.
In this regard, in front of the Jimu news reporter, Ms. Wang called the phone of Wei Mou, a construction worker of the State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company. Wei said that Ms. Wang's compensation has applied for the company's insurance process.
When asked why more than half a month has passed, the collapsed pavement has not yet recovered, Wei admitted that the current situation "does have safety hazards" and has arranged to backfill the collapsed cave, but the follow-up construction also needs to pour cement on the collapsed site and harden the pavement. Wei said that due to the inconsistency with Ms. Wang's compensation, the subsequent construction was forced to stop.
Polar News will continue to follow the progress of the repair of the collapsed pavement.
