In the process of urban demolition and transformation, the old factories and ancient buildings such as Wenzhou Dongyu Power Plant and Nantang Street are properly used to make them glow with new vitality. In the 20th century, wenzhou people who traveled between Feixia Road and The Sanbanqiao Industrial Zone know that the large chimney of Wenzhou Dongyu Power Plant, which was built in the 1950s, is not only a symbol of Wenzhou's old industry, but also a landmark of urban development. Nowadays, the old factory building is engaged in the construction of cultural and creative parks, and the chimney that once swallowed clouds and spits fog all day long has been preserved as an industrial heritage.
According to the requirements of the municipal government, the old factory building is being built into a special urban living room, recording the vigorous transformation of industrial production and becoming another major feature of the night view of the Tanghe River in Wenzhou. Strolling along the Tanghe Riverside Park, the 30-meter-wide open greenway on both sides has built a creative industrial heritage landscape sketch, which is properly inlaid and connected with Bailuzhou Park, Nantang Street and other attractions, and you can see the past and future here.
In the past, the Wenruitang River was a major traffic artery connecting old Wenzhou and Ruian and other places. The bustling commercial town and the accumulation of folk customs and humanities in the old days have been transformed into the impression of nantang (Tanghe) today.
The earliest navigable passenger ship was in 1906, when the "Yongrui" ship of Ruian Yongrui Steamship Company first sailed on the Tang River from Wenzhou to Ruian. After 1949, it developed water transport transportation, and opened Wenzhou to Ruian, Zhuangyuan, Tongling, Quxi, Chashan, Li'ao and other places. The golden water transport of the Tang River has developed to the peak. In the 21st century, due to the rapid development of highway traffic, the route gradually declined, and many ship docks after the suspension of navigation: such as the main port of Xiaonanmen Steamship Station and other shipping station buildings, have been forgotten.
