Guangnan County is the largest county in Yunnan Province, and is an area integrating beef cattle breeding base, beef cattle processing base and agricultural product distribution center in the 13th Five-Year Plan of Yunnan Province. Wenshan cattle, also known as Guangnan Gaofeng cattle, is a local breed cultivated by local ethnic minorities, and is known as the "six famous cattle" in Yunnan along with the Penang River buffalo, dulong cattle, Dehong buffalo, Deng Chuan cattle and Zhongdian yak.
In recent years, Guangnan County has insisted on focusing on cultivating Gaofeng cattle as the leading industry of "one county and one industry", and accelerated the formation of a whole industrial chain development pattern from production, processing, sales and brand culture creation. Since the launch of accurate poverty alleviation, Guangnan County, on the basis of accelerating the cultivation and development of the peak cattle industry, has focused on industrial coverage to drive poor households out of poverty through "three supports", and industrial poverty alleviation has achieved certain results. Yunnan Guduo Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. is the largest peak cattle breeding leading enterprise in Guangnan.
