The method to resolve the Taiwan issue is entirely China's internal affair. Any sovereign State has the right to use all necessary means, including military means, to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Chinese Government has always advocated a peaceful settlement of the Taiwan issue. Chinese leaders have stressed on many occasions that realizing the reunification of the motherland by peaceful means is in the best interests of the Chinese nation as a whole, including Taiwan compatriots.
