At the Red Memory Collection, Zhao Kai enthusiastically tells visitors the story behind each red collection. Zhao Kai, 55, was born in a remote mountain village in Cangxi County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province. When he was young, he remembered that on the front wall of his house, there was always a portrait of a great man, Mao Zedong. As an adult, with a unique affection for red culture, Zhao Kai unremittingly searched for and collected red collections.

In 1994, Zhao Kai came to Manas County to work, with his ancestral carpentry skills and hard work, he became a well-known carpenter master, and the locals all admired him to make wooden furniture, and when they encountered red items and old objects, Zhao Kai funded and collected them. Every year, Zhao Kai returns to Sichuan to visit his 80-year-old mother, and uses the time to visit relatives to go to some remote villages in Yun, Gui, and Sichuan to look for and collect many red collections of Chairman Mao's portraits, portraits and seals.

For more than 20 years, Zhao Kai's footprints have spread almost all over the country, collecting and sorting out more than 10,000 red propaganda posters, writings, portraits, old photos, daily necessities and other red collections in various periods since the founding of the Communist Party of China. The vast red collection fills their living room, dining room, bedroom and yard. "Over the years, Zhao Kai has spent most of his family's money collecting red collections." Wife Hu Xiumei said. At first, Hu Xiumei objected to him doing this, and Zhao Kai enlightened his wife: "If there is no money, you can go to earn it, and if you don't have the red collection, you can't find it!" ”

In 2018, Zhao Kai was invited to join the Xinjiang Collectors Association and participated in the member exchange training, and building a red collection hall became his wish. He said: "Without the Communist Party, there would be no new China, without the Communist Party there would be no stability, harmony and prosperity in Xinjiang, and I want to let more ordinary people know the history of the Party and let the red gene be passed on from generation to generation by holding an exhibition of red collections..."

"As a witness to history, the Red Collection tells the story of that blood." Bao Chengzhong, deputy secretary of Guangdong Dixiang and mayor of Guangdong Township, said that at the beginning of last year, Manas County's Guangdong Didi, Qingshuihe and other townships and towns, relying on natural ecological resources such as tianshan Baili Gallery, Manas National Wetland Park, and national forest park, combined with local fishing and hunting culture, farming culture, post station culture, and military reclamation culture, developed new tourism formats such as "red + green" and "red + village". In June last year, with the support of the township party committee and government, Zhao Kai's Red Memory Collection began construction.

In order to save money and build the exhibition hall as soon as possible, Zhao Kai and his wife often get up at 5 o'clock in the morning, move bricks, plaster cement, paint... On May 1, the Red Memory Collection was completed, and Zhao Kai selected 3,000 pieces of the collection to display in it. He said excitedly: "This year is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and the Red Memory Collection Has been built as desired, and I believe that in the study and education of party history, the Red Memory Collection will play a greater role." ”
