Morey revealed the date of the Ben Simmons deal for the 76ers

Darryl Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers appear to have made up their minds to trade Ben Simmons, but they're in no hurry because they want the biggest benefit from their All-Star guard.

Morey revealed the date of the Ben Simmons deal for the 76ers

According to NBA insider Mark Stan, alliance sources believe Simmons won't be traded right away. Morey is expected to wait until December 15, during which time more players will be eligible to be traded before any possible trade is considered.

No wonder Darryl Morey and the 76ers were patiently waiting for a suitable deal to arrive, and they weren't afraid to put Ben Simmons on the bench until they traded him. Like Morey himself said, they were even willing to let Simmons' contract expire until they got the price they wanted.

Morey said: "You'd think I was joking, I wasn't. This could be (lasting) four years. We're at the peak of Joel's career and either Ben Simmons is playing for us or we have to get back a player who can make a difference. ”

Simmons still doesn't play for the 76ers, and their stalemate continues. Anyway, the 25-year-old recently told Doug Rivers, Joel Embiid and his teammates he wasn't ready for the game, citing mental health issues.

Whether Simmons will join the 76ers remains to be seen — perhaps to further enhance his value — but for now, his future in the City of Brotherly Love remains uncertain.
