Paul Doug: There is still room for a new bilateral security dialogue between China and the United States

On the evening of October 25, at the 2021 Beijing Xiangshan Forum Expert Video Conference, Doug Bao, distinguished scholar of the Asia Program of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in the United States, said that the potential of multilateralism and the international system is being severely challenged, because the multipolarization and Balkanization of the post-Cold War world are increasing, and the prospects for strengthening cooperation are not optimistic.

It is worth mentioning that when talking about Sino-US relations, Bao Doug said that there is still room for new bilateral security dialogue between China and the United States, such as prompting both sides to clarify their respective nuclear positions. The theme of the 2021 Beijing Xiangshan Forum Expert Video Conference is "Adhere to Win-win Cooperation and Promote Global Security Governance", with 6 topics. After the opening ceremony on the evening of October 25, the seminar held a discussion on the first and second topics.
