Jin Xuan , Taishou of Wuling County, one of the four counties of Jingnan at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Jin Xuan, who is unknown in the history books and has no name in his origins, was later labeled as ignorant of current affairs because of his unusual behavior in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and became the talk of the world after dinner.
Jin Xuan appears in the 52nd and 53rd episodes of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. In the fifty-second time, Jin Xuan appeared on the side, which was introduced through Zhang Fei's words, that is, Zhang Fei shouted: "Only three thousand troops will be allocated to go with me to take Wuling County, and capture Taishou Jinxuan alive to sacrifice!" In the fifty-third time, Jin Xuan appeared head-on, with two lines and a battle. The two lines are respectively Jin Xuan's great anger: "Ru wants to connect with the thief to change inside? He Xuan asked the general, "Who dares to fight?" "A battle: spinning from the horse and dancing knife to meet it." Zhang Fei shouted loudly, like a huge thunderbolt, the golden whirlwind lost its color, did not dare to fight, and rode away.
Two lines, the experience of fighting but not daring to fight and flee at once highlights Jin Xuan's conceited, arrogant, and inferior nature.

First, conceit.
Conceit refers to overestimating oneself. Jin Xuan, as Taishou, the highest administrator of a county, was responsible for advising Nongsang in Wuling County, leveling prison proceedings, collecting rents and overseers, selecting talents and raising honesty, guarding the army, and dissecting the heavenly son (dispatching soldiers and tigers, and the emperor each holding half), and receiving punishment and removal. However, when Jin Xuan learned that Zhang Fei had led the troops to attack, he did not investigate Zhang Fei's combat ability, the level of generals, and the number and strength of the generals; second, he did not study the defensive deployment of Wuling, the arrangements for attacking and defending the city, the willingness of the soldiers to defend the city, and the support of the people, so he hastily gathered the generals, hurriedly sorted out the weapons, and hurriedly left the city to meet the enemy. Before Jin Xuan could engage in battle, he first committed the conceited taboo of the warrior: overestimating himself and underestimating his opponents. Once this conceited nature is highlighted, the outcome of the battle is self-evident and there is no doubt that it will be defeated. Golden swirl, the authorities are fans. Gong Zhi is different, and the bystander Qing will use "Liu Beiren's righteous world, Zhang Feixiao Yong is very" to advise Jin Xuanna to surrender.
Second, arrogance.
Arrogance refers to those who think that they do not value themselves or regard their status and role as very important, and exaggerate their own value. Jin Xuan, as the commander-in-chief, the highest military commander on the side, was responsible for transporting the domain when Wuling County was invaded, commanding the whole county, giving orders, lining up troops, defending the territory, fighting alone, and being able to lead the way. However, when Jin Xuan wanted to resist Zhang Fei's troops to capture Wuling, he did not consult with the generals on countermeasures or listen to the reasonable suggestions of the people, but blindly obeyed the power of one county and the power of one county against the power of one prince and four counties. Ran Gongzhi, as a taishou official, participated in and advised Taishou to make decisions, investigated and studied the strength of Zhang Fei's troops to attack Wuling County, and provided Jin Xuan with the best countermeasures, that is, to surrender to shang.
Third, inferiority.
Inferiority refers to looking down on oneself and feeling inferior to others everywhere. During the period when Liu Bei sent Zhang Fei to attack Wuling County, Jin Xuan first served as the taishou of the rear guards, that is, he did not investigate Zhang Fei's strength and Liu Bei's ability, and did not humbly accept the suggestions of his staff and the level of his generals, and without measuring his own strength, he led his troops out of the city for twenty miles to meet Zhang Fei; later, as a general who led the troops in front of the battle, he could not urge his subordinates to fight bravely and not be afraid of the battle, and he was frightened by Zhang Fei's thunderous cheers, and he did not dare to face Zhang Fei directly, and he was defeated before the battle. Even more ridiculous, Jin Xuan lost the battle and wanted to return to the city, but he was betrayed by Gong Zhi and other subordinates, and was shot in the front door by one of his arrows, fell on his horse and died, cutting off his head and sacrificing the city.
Jin Xuan, as the Taishou of Wuling County, during the period of Zhang Fei's attack, not only showed a level that was not commensurate with Taishou, but even brought into full play the nature of personal conceit, arrogance, and inferiority, resulting in defeat before the battle, and was also killed by the most trusted people around him, and the precious human head and the city pool that insisted on it together became the amulet for Gong Zhi and others to save their lives and a stepping stone for promotion.
Author's Note: Ignorance of current affairs refers to not knowing the current important situation and the trend of the times. Now it also means that people are not interested in receiving things. Jin Xuan, as a Taishou, should have gone with the trend and surrendered to Liu Bei, a high-ranking official houlu, and a wife and yinzi; but he violated the law, resisted Zhang Fei, sent his life to lose the city, and became a stepping stone for others to be promoted. As the saying goes, those who know the current affairs are Junjie, and those who do not know the current affairs are reckless.
