Chu Guangxi [Tang Dynasty]

Sunset in the Yangtze River,

Invited to return to the head.

Falling flowers as intentional,

Come and go boat by boat. (Ship Flow Ichisaku: Light Boat)

Translation:

Twilight shines on the Yangtze River, and they are invited to row a boat back to the ferry.

The falling flowers seemed to have affection, floating around, following the boat forward.

exegesis:

Twilight: Refers to the time when the sun is about to set, in the evening.

Ferry: Ferry.

Chase: Chase, follow.

Chu Guangxi (c. 706–763), a native of Yanling, Runzhou (present-day southern Danyang County, Jiangsu). A native of Yanzhou (present-day northern Yanzhou County, Shandong). In the fourteenth year of the New Century (726), he was promoted to the rank of inspector of imperial history. He once lived in seclusion in Zhongnan Mountain, and was with Wang Wei as "Bo Zhong's Joy". Chu Guangxi is one of the famous pastoral landscape poets of the Sheng Tang Dynasty, and most of his poems are five ancient. Yin Yao called it. High-profile and elegant, interesting and deep, cut all the common words, carry the traces of elegance, and the magnificent atmosphere" ("Heyue Yingling Collection"). Quan Tang Poetry compiled its poems into four volumes.
