On September 2, Alibaba announced that it will donate a total of 100 billion yuan by 2025 to launch the "Alibaba Top Ten Actions to Help Common Prosperity". Four months ago, Tencent has also completed the public announcement one step ahead of schedule, and will spend 100 billion yuan to launch the "common prosperity" special plan.
The two major domestic Internet giants have taken out a total of 200 billion yuan, in order to help the "common prosperity" to create momentum, this face is quite a bit of burning, but also let us ordinary people have a little more expectations.
Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, we have struggled for decades to achieve the goal of "all-round well-off", as of last year, it has basically been achieved, and now China has a strong comprehensive national strength and is moving towards the next goal of "common prosperity" at full speed.
Seeing this scene, we can't help but sigh that today's Local Chinese enterprises already have the strong strength to support national construction with 100 billion!
Looking back at the national capitalists a hundred years ago, they all "transfused blood and continued life" for the motherland in distress through the way of "destroying the family and relieving difficulties", and showed their fists and patriotic hearts to this red hot land they loved deeply.
The most famous of these is Mr. Chen Jiageng.

Portrait of Chen Jiageng
Chen Jiageng was born on October 21, 1874 in Jimei Society, Tong'an County, Quanzhou Province, Fujian Province, which is now Jimei District, Xiamen.
Chen Jiageng, who was born in a merchant family, soon showed a high talent for business under the influence of his childhood, and at the age of 16, he went to Singapore to help his father run his own rice shop.
Although he is doing business in Nanyang, Chen Jiageng has never forgotten to care about the educational resources of children in his hometown, and he is bent on contributing to the education cause in his hometown.
Therefore, when Chen Jiageng was 27 years old, he invested 2,000 yuan to open a "Tizhai Xueshu" in his hometown of Jimei, and also waived tuition fees for his hometown children, the purpose is very simple, that is, to let the children of poor families also have schooling and books to read, so that dolls can become useful materials for the motherland.
In addition, Chen Jiageng also paid for the printing of a large number of "New Editions of The Inspection Party" and distributed them throughout his hometown. This is a tool book containing a lot of medical knowledge, for many internal and surgical diseases, first aid, dietary therapy, epidemics, etc., there are corresponding treatment methods, so that ordinary people can know the correct method when encountering diseases, so as to save themselves in time.
However, such a patriot who often does good deeds, fate always seems to be difficult for him.
In 1904, Chen Jiageng's father went bankrupt in business, and the Chen family's capital chain was once very tight. Thankfully, Chen Jiageng, who has a keen sense of business smell, has paved the way.
As early as a few years ago, Chen Jiageng anticipated the decline of the southeast Asian grain industry, and opened a fruit canning factory and a rubber factory in Thailand, avoiding the disadvantage of the single family industry, even if his father's traditional grain industry was seriously affected, it would not cause the entire family to collapse.
During the Xinhai Revolution, Chen Jiageng raised more than 200,000 yuan to fully support Fujian Guangfu, in addition, he also raised 50,000 yuan overseas to help Mr. Zhongshan, hoping that he could persist in leading the revolution and return China to a new world of freedom and democracy.
Rush to collect donations for supplies
In 1912, the Republic of China was established, Chen Jiageng, as the first generation of patriotic overseas Chinese who went to Nanyang to develop the cause, chose to return to the country for development, he opened his canning factory back to his hometown Jimei, and in the following years, he began his drastic business expansion road.
In 1915, Chen Jiageng carried out reforms, converted some canneries into rubber production bases, and began to operate the steamship shipping industry, renting four large-capacity ships, and also launched a business of white iron trading.
In 1916, he spent a huge amount of money to buy a ship with a draft of 3,000 tons, named "Dongfeng", and the following year purchased the "Qiantai" with a larger draft.
Also in this year, Chen Jiageng continued to fund the education cause in his hometown, so that his brother Chen Jingxian founded Jimei Middle School and Jimei Normal School in his hometown to cultivate more outstanding teachers for his hometown.
At the same time, Chen Jiageng also did not forget to think about his friends who were also overseas Chinese, and organized the Nanyang Overseas Chinese Middle School in Singapore, so that the children of overseas Chinese who lived overseas could have suitable schools to study, learn Chinese and history from an early age, and let the children not forget the fundamentals of their hometown.
In 1919, Chen Jiageng was determined to organize a university for the country, and after two years of planning, Mr. Chen Jiageng pledged 4 million national yuan in 1921 to officially establish Xiamen University. Today, Xiamen University has become one of the top outstanding universities in China.
Mr. Chen Jiageng and Xiamen University
On the night of July 7, 1937, when the Japanese army was exercising near the Lugou Bridge in the southwest of Beiping, under the pretext of searching for the lost soldiers of the Japanese army, they wanted to march into Wanping City, but after being rejected by the defenders, they brazenly launched an artillery attack, and the all-out war of resistance began.
After learning this bad news, there was an uproar at home and abroad, and Chen Jiageng, who was far away in Singapore, was even more distressed.
On August 15, Tan Kah Kee immediately initiated the establishment of the "Malaysian Singapore Overseas Chinese Relief of Wounded Soldiers and Refugees Conference Committee", and personally served as the chairman, raising a total of 10 million Singapore dollars, all of which were used to support the motherland's War of Resistance Against Japan.
In 1940, Chen Jiageng organized many overseas Chinese living in Nanyang to return to China to comfort the soldiers who fought in bloody battles. This time back, Chen Jiageng first arrived in Chongqing, and two months later in Yan'an.
In Chongqing and Yan'an, Chen Jiageng expressed to the two parties the unanimous wish of overseas Chinese and looked forward to the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China and the common defense of foreign insults.
"Overseas Chinese love the motherland very much and are willing to support the War of Resistance. However, if a civil war breaks out again during the period of the War of Resistance Against Japan, it will inevitably be the pain of the relatives and the happiness of the enemies, and we overseas Chinese will be greatly disappointed. Therefore, we all hope that the two parties can take salvation as the premise and hate each other, then this is the good fortune of the country and the good fortune of the nation! ”

After listening to Chen Jiageng's speech, Mao Zedong was also very moved, and told Chen Jiageng about the sincerity of the Communist Party's willingness to unite all forces and jointly resist Japan. He also said that he would certainly not disappoint the high expectations of overseas Chinese compatriots, and entrusted Chen Jiageng to report to overseas Chinese compatriots all his observations in Yan'an after returning to Nanyang.
As for Chairman Mao's entrustment, Chen Jiageng agreed one by one, and after returning to Singapore, he also did so one by one, calling on all overseas Chinese in the local area to actively donate money to help the motherland tide over the difficulties.
In the matter of donations, he himself spared no effort, in more than three years, he raised a total of about 400 million yuan of national currency, all of which were used to support the War of Resistance, which can be described as the leader of the Nanyang overseas Chinese compatriots "destroying the family and relieving difficulties".
The energy of the sons and daughters of China is infinite, and the War of Resistance Against Japan ended in the complete victory of our country.
In 1949, New China was gloriously established under the eyes of the world, and the painstaking efforts of a group of overseas Chinese represented by Mr. Chen Jiageng finally ushered in a happy ending.
In 1950, Mr. Chen Jiageng moved his family back to China and settled in his hometown of Jimei Village, where the old man who had been floating overseas for half a lifetime finally embarked on the road back to his hometown.
After returning to his hometown, Mr. Chen still attached great importance to the development and construction of education in his hometown, and he personally presided over the construction of jimei university and Xiamen university.
In terms of school funds, he is more responsive, and all equipment is as far as possible to use the most advanced products at that time, just to provide students with more superior scientific research conditions and learning environment.
During the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Mr. Chen Jiageng still cared about the soldiers on the distant battlefield, and he wrote a huge cheque of 500,000 yuan from his personal account in the bank as a purchase fund for cold materials on the battlefield and gave it to the volunteer soldiers who bravely resisted the US imperialism in the front, hoping that every soldier could bring the ardent wishes of the people of the motherland and bravely kill the enemy.
Mr. Chan Ka Kee and mainland youth
However, Mr. Chen Jiageng, who has never been ambiguous in donating money and materials to major national events, has a very difficult and simple life in his later years.
In Mr. Chen Jiageng's own premises, the beds, desks, sofas, and mosquito nets are all old objects that have been used for many years. In addition to the coat and trousers he wore outside, his underwear, shoes, and socks were all patched, and he was even reluctant to change them for himself.
It is reasonable to say that people should ensure a nutritious diet in their old age, but Mr. Chen has set a five-cent daily meal standard for himself, and he must not exceed the standard, so the food he often eats is nothing more than sweet potato porridge, peanut kernels, dried tofu, and curd sauce.
He wants to save every penny, and when the country needs it, he can give it away.
In 1961, Mr. Chen Jiageng was seriously ill, and his family took him to Beijing to receive the best medical environment in order to save the old man's body, but Mr. Chen's illness was too serious, and with the medical conditions at that time, the doctors were unable to return to heaven.
The scene of Mr. Chen Jiageng's funeral
On August 12, Mr. Chen Jiageng passed away in Beijing, and at the memorial service, Premier Zhou personally went to the scene to mourn and send Mr. Chen's heroic soul on the last journey on earth.
In accordance with Mr. Chen's last wishes, the children brought his body back to his hometown and buried it in Jimei Ao Garden.
After wandering overseas for more than half a century, his pure heart has been boiling hot, and he has spent half his life running for the cause of independence and liberation of the motherland, never stopping.
Finally, Mr. Chen Jiageng's ashes can be hugged together forever with his hometown where his soul has been haunted overseas for most of his life, and he will never be separated again.
