On the morning of October 22, 45 African youths who participated in the 6th China-Africa Youth Gala walked into the former residence of Soong Ching-ling to watch the "Special Exhibition of Pictures of Soong Ching-ling and China-Africa Friendship Cultural Relics" and the exhibition of Song Qingling's life and original state, and held an exchange and sharing forum. Wang Ke, former Chinese ambassador to Tanzania, and Chen Aimin, director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, attended the meeting.
In the preface hall of the former residence, a large number of historical and cultural relics photos of Song Qingling and China-Africa friendship are presented in a picture-and-text manner, vividly telling the continuous friendship between China and Africa. After the founding of New China, as a state leader, Soong Ching Ling met and received leaders and children of Guinea, Ghana, Algeria, Tanzania and other African countries in Beijing, Shanghai and other places on many occasions, making important contributions to the cause of Sino-African friendship. While listening to the introduction, the African youth watched the group photo of Song Qingling and his African friends, and felt very kind and excited.
Afterwards, the African youth visited the exhibition of Soong Ching-ling's life and the original exhibition. Everyone showed great interest in the content of the exhibition, stopped for a long time in front of the photos and cultural relics, listened carefully to the explanations, asked about the relevant historical background from time to time, and frequently took photos to record.
Fran from Tanzania, Nina from Morocco, Maria from Sierra Leone, Gu Yuxuan from Kenya, John from Ghana, Mason from Togo, Ali from Congo (Brazzaville) and others said that although the time to visit Song Qingling's former residence was short, song Qingling's spirit left a deep impression on us. We learned that Soong Ching Ling was a very great Chinese woman, and from her we can see how great a woman can make to the country and the nation. Soong Ching-ling has done a lot of things for China-Africa friendship, and we are very grateful and hope to spread Soong Ching-ling's great ideas and spirit to more African friends. As African youth, we should learn from Soong Ching-ling's dedication and make greater efforts to enable African children to live a better life and achieve national growth and development. Maria also sang her own songs on the spot to express her reverence and love for Song Qingling.
After the visit, African youth participated in the exchange meeting and concluded the grand celebration by means of discussion and sharing. Everyone spoke enthusiastically and generally believed that the gala event provided a rare platform for African youth to deeply understand China and the Communist Party of China, and learn from China's development history and successful experience. The event was informative and well-organized, and I would like to thank the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation for the valuable opportunity. The young people also put forward specific opinions and suggestions on further running the future large-scale gala activities.
On behalf of the organizers, Ambassador Wang Ke congratulated the African youth on their fruitful achievements and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Chinese Soong Ching Ling Foundation and all Chinese staff and volunteers. Combining his many years of experience in working for Africa, Ambassador Wang responded positively to the work suggestions made by African youth. Ambassador Wang pointed out with deep affection that Soong Ching Ling is a great patriot, an active advocate of world peace, and a great woman who cares about the growth of young people. She is not only revered and remembered by the people of Chinese, but also strongly resonates with the noble spirit of Soong Ching-ling, including the people of Africa. Ambassador Wang encouraged African youth to introduce song Qingling's life, spirit and China-Africa friendship story to their families and friends, promote people-to-people exchanges between China and Africa, and become the main force in the inheritance and further development of China-Africa friendship.
Chen Aimin said that the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation carries forward the lofty spirit of Soong Ching Ling, actively strives to enhance international friendship, maintain world peace, serve the growth and development of young people, promote public welfare undertakings, and will strive to make greater efforts to promote China-Africa youth exchanges and become a bridge and link between China and Africa. I believe that with the common support and active participation of everyone, the China-Africa Youth Gala will become more and more exciting.
In the morning, African youth also visited Huawei's Beijing Convention and Exhibition Center to feel the great changes brought by independent innovation technology to China's economic and social development.
