Lugu Lake is one of the few natural high-quality nutrient-poor deep-water lakes in China, and is one of the nine plateau lakes in Yunnan Province, and to protect Lugu Lake is to protect high-quality freshwater resources. At present, the research on domestic lake water ecology is mainly concentrated in plain shallow lakes, the study of plateau deep-water lakes is relatively small, lack of a set of water ecological health evaluation system suitable for the characteristics of low-latitude plateau lakes, for this reason, China Environmental Monitoring Station (hereinafter referred to as the main station) gives full play to the "one general multi-specialty", multi-level monitoring network system and other joint technical advantages, and organizes the Ecological Environment Monitoring and Scientific Research Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Yangtze River Basin Ecological environment supervision and management bureau (hereinafter referred to as the Yangtze River Center), Yunnan Provincial Ecological Environment Monitoring Center (hereinafter referred to as Yunnan Provincial Station) and Yunnan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment in Lijiang Ecological Environment Monitoring Station (hereinafter referred to as Lijiang City Station) carried out water ecological monitoring work in Lugu Lake from May 14 to 16.

In order to ensure the high-quality and efficient completion of the monitoring task, technical experts and staff from all sides held a preparatory meeting immediately after arriving at Lugu Lake, fully docked the monitoring plan, discussed the technical points, optimized the sampling route, and carried out training on the use of pre-departure monitoring instruments.

On-site instrument training

After all parties wearing stars and wearing the moon and working overtime, the first round of water ecological monitoring of Lugu Lake was successfully completed. The four parties of the main station, the Yangtze River Center, the Yunnan Provincial Station and the Lijiang City Station have adopted a number of measures such as reasonable arrangement of sampling plans, sorting out technical difficulties in advance, and coordination of water and land, etc., to overcome many unfavorable factors such as small working space, large wind and waves on the lake surface, and complex and changeable weather in the plateau area, to ensure that the sampling is completed in quality and quantity.

In two days, the sampling personnel sailed more than 10 hours a day, worked more than 14 hours a day, and completed a total of 31 surface water routine indicators at 15 points, sample collection of phytoplankton, benthic organisms, and plankton with a vertical distribution, with a total of about 350 bottles (copies), and completed the preliminary survey of aquatic plant distribution and data recording and collation.

Routine monitoring indicators water samples

This water ecological monitoring survey is the first systematic and operational monitoring survey of Lugu Lake, and important basic data of Lugu Lake ecosystem are obtained, which has a positive role in promoting the construction of a water ecological environment quality monitoring and evaluation system suitable for Yunnan Plateau lakes, and further supports the water ecological environment management of Yunnan Plateau Lakes.
