Alan Rickman's diary is published documenting the behindmath of Harry Potter

The diary of Alan Rickman, the actor who played "Snape" in the Harry Potter series, will be published in a book called The Diary of Alan Rickman, launched by Cannongate in the fall of 2022.

The game will be a selection of 27 volumes of his diary over 25 years, which Rickman began writing in the early 1990s with the intention of publishing until his death in 2016. He chronicled his life and work, including his understanding and political views on acting and friendship, as well as reviews of theatrical productions, and behind-the-scenes stories of Harry Potter. The book's editor, Alan Taylor, describes his writings as "anecdotal, unobtrusive, humorous, and very candid."

In response, Rima Horton, Rickman's widow, said she was pleased, saying that the book would show what Rickman really looked like, "his sense of humor, keen observation, his skill and love of art", not only as an actor.
