Lin Jun was born in Surabaya, Indonesia in August 1949, and settled in China with his parents in May 1952. Lin Jun grew up studying and working in Beijing. He served as director and secretary general of the General Office of the State Planning Commission and general manager of the China Grain Reserve Management Corporation.
In April 2007, Lin Jun was transferred to the Party Group and full-time vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. In January 2008, at the Fifth Plenary Session of the Seventh Session of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, he was elected as the Seventh Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Eighth Chairman in 2009. In 2014, he was elected as the ninth president, the youngest chairman of the all-china federation of returned overseas Chinese.
Serving overseas Chinese is the purpose of the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. After Lin Jun became the chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, he launched the overseas condolence activity of "Family Affection for China" during the Spring Festival of that year. Lin Jun stressed that the work of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese should be based on overseas Chinese and put concern for the relatives of returned overseas Chinese in an important position. After he was elected chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese in January 2008, he went to Dali and Kunming in Yunnan Province that month to comfort the poor and poor returnees, and in Kunming to comfort the 92-year-old Wang Yaliu, a 92-year-old mechanic who returned to China to resist Japan. Lin Jun attaches great importance to the economic construction of overseas Chinese, pays attention to giving play to the strength of overseas Chinese, and makes contributions to the development of the economy of overseas Chinese. In April 2008, the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese held a meeting in Qingtian, Zhejiang Province, to promote the construction of the new socialist countryside by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and he stressed that all parts of the country should earnestly grasp this work. The All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese also joined hands with the Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to host a large-scale activity in Nanning entitled "Into the Beibu Gulf - 2009 Overseas Chinese Businessmen To Cooperate in the Development of the Guangxi Beibu Bay Economic Zone", and he encouraged overseas Chinese businessmen to participate in the economic construction of the Beibu Gulf.

Lin Jun is committed to developing cross-strait relations. After he became the secretary of the party leading group and full-time vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the "2007 Cross-Strait All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese Peace and Development Forum" was held in Fujian. He led the personnel of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese to attend. After the meeting, he led more than 300 delegates to visit Quanzhou, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese.
In 2009, he led a delegation from the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese to Visit Taiwan, and overseas Chinese circles on both sides of the strait signed an agreement on strengthening cross-strait cooperation and exchanges. His current visit to Taiwan has become the leader of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese visiting Taiwan for the first time, and has been praised by all circles as an "ice-breaking trip," which has enhanced exchanges and understanding among people from overseas Chinese circles on both sides of the strait and aroused great concern among overseas Chinese circles at home and abroad.

In February 2012, Lin Jun came to Quanzhou Overseas Chinese Township and learned that Quanzhou had founded many overseas Chinese-funded enterprises, that is, to investigate and investigate the overseas Chinese-funded enterprises in Quanzhou, listen to the introduction of enterprises, visit and inspect on the spot, and participate in relevant symposiums, fully affirming that Quanzhou has developed rapidly in the economy and society since the reform and opening up, and has achieved remarkable results. He placed high hopes on Quanzhou's blueprint for "building a private economic paradise" and the vigorous growth of the real economy, and hoped that Quanzhou's overseas Chinese-funded enterprises would continue to make efforts under the more difficult circumstances of the world economic environment, continue to develop and upgrade the people's livelihood supplies enterprises, make the real economy bigger and stronger, and take off again in the future development.
Lin Jun is very concerned about the building of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese at the grass-roots level in Quanzhou; Quanzhou is a well-known hometown of overseas Chinese throughout the country and also a key hometown of overseas Chinese in the whole province; the number of returned overseas Chinese dependents and overseas Chinese compatriots is the largest in the province, and the townships and towns in all counties and urban areas have generally established organizations for the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. When Lin Jun inspected the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese in Jinjing Town, Jinjiang City, he learned in detail about the work of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese at the grass-roots level and affirmed that the work of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese at the grass-roots level has achieved remarkable results. Lin Jun loves calligraphy, and has been practicing calligraphy since he was a child under the guidance of his mother, and after a long period of diligent study and hard work, he has cultivated a good hand and become a bridge link between his love and feelings in his hometown. At the end of 2010, he gladly wrote a registration for the Anxi Newspaper. He also wrote inscriptions for the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Anxi County, the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Overseas Chinese Donation School in his hometown, overseas Chinese and Hong Kong compatriots. He wrote the special issue for the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Quanzhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Anxi Association in Singapore and the 8th World Anxi Folk Association. He wrote an inscription for the Anxi County Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, "Houde Carrier". The inscription for the Hong Kong Anxi Hometown Association reads "Contact hometown friendship, watch over each other, communicate inside and outside, and benefit Sangzi". He wrote an inscription for the establishment of the Beijing Anxi Chamber of Commerce" "World Anxi people, a family from all over the world".
In August 2012, Liu Guohua, executive chairman of Anxi Association in Singapore, led a delegation to Beijing to visit Chairman Lin Jun. Lin Jun briefed the delegation on the development history of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. He said that the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese is the home of the relatives of returned overseas Chinese and the vast number of overseas Chinese compatriots, and overseas Chinese compatriots are welcome to go home often to see. Lin Jun has deep feelings for his hometown. When he returned to his hometown with his parents in 1992, he said: All patriotic overseas Chinese have a common characteristic, that is, they have deep feelings for their homeland." Although he was born in Indonesia and grew up in the north, Anxi in Fujian is still the place where his soul haunts, which is not only the land where his ancestors grew up, but also the place where his ancestors fought, and now many relatives still live there, so after walking through thousands of mountains and rivers, Anxi is still the place he misses the most.
During his return to his hometown, Lin Jun's parents briefed him on the past poverty in his hometown and the development and changes since the founding of New China. He said that he would often return to Anxi to see and make a modest contribution to the construction of his hometown. This is his inseparable hometown feelings. During his return to his hometown, he exchanged hokkien dialect with the villagers and expressed his feelings for his hometown.
Lin Jun's father, Lin Shengxiang, returned to his hometown to participate in the revolutionary struggle during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and became the secretary of the Longmen branch of the Communist Party of China in 1938. In October 1998, Longmen Town held the "60th Anniversary Commemorative Conference of the Underground Party Organization of the Communist Party of China". Lin Jun, the son of Lin Xianxiang and then director of the General Office of the State Planning Commission, sent a warm congratulatory letter to the leaders of the party committee of Longmen Town and all the elders on October 15.
The congratulatory letter said: "On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the reconstruction of the Longmen Underground Party, we are very happy to learn that Longmen Town plans to hold commemorative activities. In particular, as a relative of Comrade Lin Xianxiang, one of the leaders of the early underground party in Longmen, we are very pleased that the town party committee and the town government have used this method to commemorate the martyrs and inherit the uncompetited cause of their predecessors, so as to rejuvenate the new Longmen and Xin'anxi for building socialist modernization. ”
In 1997, the 7th World Anxi Folk Friendship Conference was held in his hometown of Anxi, and Chairman Lin Jun was invited to return to his hometown to attend the opening ceremony of the conference. Together with leaders at all levels, he also laid the foundation stone for the Fujian General Factory of Want Want Group and cut the ribbon for the completion of the Sihaiming Commercial and Trade Center. He cordially met with Anxi villagers from all over the world and enhanced the friendship between Anxi villagers at home and abroad.
On the fourth day of the first lunar month in 2010, Chairman Lin Jun returned to his hometown to inspect the Eight Horses Tea Industry and affirmed the achievements of the Eight Horses Tea Industry. It is pointed out that Anxi tea has always been a favorite "overseas Chinese tea" for overseas Chinese. It is hoped that the Eight Horse Tea Industry will play the role of a leading enterprise, increase the efforts to build a national brand, and join hands with overseas Chinese to go to the international market. And the title of Eight Horse Tea Industry "taste tea to the intoxicating place, its own charm in it." He also visited Longmen Middle School.
On the fourth day of the first lunar month in 2011, the Anxi County Party Committee and the county government held a spring forum for representatives of Anxi Township. Chairman Lin Jun was invited to return to his hometown to participate. Together with the leaders of the county party committee and the county government and representatives of Anxi Township from all over the world, he discussed the development plan of Anxi and made suggestions for a new round of leapfrog development in his hometown.
In February 2012, Lin Jun inspected the planning exhibition hall of the South Wing New Town Management Committee, Haijia Semiconductor Industrial Park, Lianjie Hot Spring Villa and Cross-Strait Financial Center in Longmen Town, Anxi County, to understand the overall planning, project introduction and urban construction of Longmen Town. He expressed appreciation for the rapid development of Anxi's economic and social undertakings in recent years and the leapfrog development in the construction of the South Wing New City in the past two years.
On November 24, 2017, at the 80th anniversary of the relocation of Anxi in Jimei School, Lin Jun was invited to return to his hometown to attend the commemorative meeting and announced the opening of the conference. Since Jimei School is his father's alma mater, he specially wrote an inscription for the conference: "Carry forward the spirit of Jiageng and build an education powerhouse", praising the achievements of relocating Anxi to Jimei School and cultivating talents for Anxi.
On December 7 of that year, the 10th World Anxi Folk Friendship Conference was held in Anxi, and Lin Jun was invited to return to his hometown to participate in the friendship conference, attend the opening ceremony of the conference, and meet with the Anxi villagers at home and abroad. During the friendship meeting, the hometown held the Ninth Congress of Returned Overseas Chinese and Overseas Chinese Relatives in Anxi County to elect a new leadership team. Lin Jun also met with the members of the new leadership team of the County Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and took a group photo with everyone.
After Lin Jun retired, as an adviser to the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, he still cared about Anxi's hometown. In mid-December 2020, he returned to his hometown in Anxi to visit his relatives again, and visited Longmen Central School and Digital Fujian (Anxi Industrial Park). He also went to the Anxi Overseas Chinese Vocational Secondary School, inspected the two statues of Chen Jiageng that had just been completed at the school and next to the Anxi Confucian Temple, bowed to the statue of Chen Jiageng, and remembered the great deeds of this great patriotic overseas Chinese leader.
Lin Jun is a deputy to the 16th and 17th National Congresses of the Communist Party of China, and an alternate member of the Central Committee of the 17th Central Committee. At the 18th Party Congress held in November 2012, he was elected as a member of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. He was the first villager of Anxi to be elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
