On February 9, the Yulin District Intermediate People's Court pronounced a judgment on compensation for extraordinarily large water pollution damages, in which the crude oil wastewater discharged by the defendant, the Beijing Petroleum Development Company of the Northern Forestry Development Corporation, polluted and poisoned the fish in the reservoir contracted by the plaintiff, and was sentenced to 300,000 yuan in damages. This is the first case of compensation for water pollution damage in Shaanxi Province.
