On October 23 and 24, just past the weekend, the second Jing'an District Games "Won the Championship Jing'an" Youth Sports Series - 2021 Student Sunshine Sports League, in Shanghai Qiyuan Experimental Primary School held four major events of Chinese chess, Go, checkers and bridge, and nearly 500 young players from primary and secondary schools in the region launched a wonderful and fierce battle on the intellectual sports field and enjoyed the joy of sports.

This year's District Games Student Sunshine Sports League chess and card competition, the schedule is dense and compact. On the morning and afternoon of October 23, Chinese chess and Go competitions were held, with a total of 57 primary and secondary schools and 290 players participating in the competition. On the morning of October 24, the international checkers and bridge competitions began at the same time, and 181 participants came from 27 primary and secondary schools.

In terms of competition items, except for the bridge event, which is a team competition, the other three chess competitions are only set up for men and women. In the competition categories, the four types of chess and card competitions are set up in primary school, junior high school, high school (including vocational school) male and female groups, of which primary schools are divided into male and female A (fourth to fifth grades) B (first to third grades).

Out of the importance attached to the event, the organizing committee invited some authoritative figures to serve as the chief judges of the four major chinese chess, Go, international checkers and bridges. For example, the referee of the Chinese chess game is Yan Zhigang, the national referee, the referee of the international checkers competition is the national referee Zhu Weifang, the arbitration is Lin Ta, deputy director of the Technical Training Committee of the China International Checkers Association; the referee of the bridge game is Ding Jianhua, deputy secretary general of the Shanghai Bridge Association; and the chief referee of the Go game is Zhou Hong, a national first-level referee.

Although chess and cards belong to the brain-based intellectual sports, there is no such intense physical exertion and physical confrontation as football and basketball, but the competition on the chessboard and the card table is also tense and fierce, thrilling, the two sides come and go, every inch of land must be fought, the attack and defense are very sticky, often a game of chess, a deck of cards ends, both sides of the game are nervous to blush, palms sweat.

After fierce competition, a total of 22 individual championships and 5 team championships were born in each group of the four major chess and card competitions.
