On October 21, 1924, Lu Zhonglin was ordered by Feng Yuxiang to lead his troops to march 100 kilometers day and night into the city of Beijing. On the afternoon of the 22nd, he arrived at Beiyuan to meet with the remaining commander Jiang Hongxuan, and entered the city of Beijing through Andingmen in the evening. Together with Sun Yue's forces, he besieged the presidential palace and imprisoned Cao Kun. Occupy the telephone office, telegraph office and railway station, and control Beijing without firing a single shot.
On October 10, 1911, the Wuchang Uprising broke out. On February 12, 1912, under the operation of Yuan Shikai, the last emperor Puyi abdicated. Yuan Shikai did not drive Puyi out of the Forbidden City, and Puyi still had eunuchs and palace women serving by his side. The government of the Republic of China also provides 4 million taels of silver for Puyi every year.
At 9:00 a.m. on November 5, 1924, Lu Zhonglin, regent Huang Gao, Beijing police superintendent Zhang Bi, and celebrity Li Shizeng and four others set off from the Beijing Guard Headquarters by car, taking 40 military and police officers straight to ShenwuMen. The Qing imperial policemen guarding the Forbidden City were panicked when they saw the sudden arrival of the Nationalist Army, and before they could return to God, they were all disarmed and waited to be reorganized. Lu Zhonglin and his party marched all the way from the Shenwu Gate, entered the Forbidden City, and went straight to the old site of the former military aircraft office of longzong gate. Soon, the ministers of internal affairs Shaoying and Rongyuan came to see him, and Lu Zhonglin showed the instructions of the president and revised the preferential conditions for the qing room, limiting Shaoying to urge Puyi to accept the instructions within two hours, abolish the imperial trumpet, move out of the Forbidden City, and hand over various public and private goods.

At that time, the Qing Chamber was holding a meeting of the "Imperial Front", and when he heard that Lu Zhonglin had come to force the palace, Shao Ying, the Minister of Internal Affairs, hurried out to greet him. Lu Zhonglin shoved the newly formulated "Regulations on Preferential Care for the Qing Room" into Shao Ying's hand, and then took out two bombs from his arms and threw them on the table of the "Imperial Front" meeting. Lu Zhonglin saw that Puyi was still rubbing, and immediately ordered his opponents: "Tell the outside, things are still being discussed, don't open fire first, and then extend it for 20 minutes!" Puyi heard the words and broke out in a cold sweat.
At 16:10, Puyi and his descendants, concubines and relatives left the Forbidden City. Lu Zhonglin escorted Puyi to the residence of the Alcohol King's Mansion located at the Houhai Ganshi Bridge.
In front of the palace of the Alcohol King, Lu Zhonglin and Puyi met for the first time and asked, "Puyi, will you still be called emperor in the future?" Or do you consider yourself a civilian? ”
Puyi replied: "Since I have accepted the amendment to the preferential conditions for the Qing Dynasty, of course, I have abolished the imperial title and am willing to be a commoner of the Republic of China." ”
Lu Zhonglin said, "Well, since you are willing to be a civilian, as a soldier, I have my own responsibility to protect, and I must notify my subordinates and protect you." The two shook hands and said goodbye.

On October 13, 1961, the National Committee of the Political Consultative Conference held a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution in Beijing, and under the arrangement of Shen Bochun, deputy secretary general of the CPPCC National Committee, Lu Zhonglin, Xiong Bingkun, Wen Chuyu, Li Baizhen, Qiu Wenbin and others sat on the sofa in the fourth conference hall of the CPPCC Auditorium, quietly waiting for Puyi's arrival.
At 11:00 a.m., Shen Bochun accompanied Puyi and walked into the fourth conference hall, Puyi was thin, tall and thin, wearing glasses, and wearing a set of Zhongshan suits. Seeing Puyi walk in, Lu Zhonglin and the others then stood up. Puyi and looked at Lu Zhonglin with a smile on his face, he just shook his head, and then quickly stepped forward, grasping Lu Zhonglin's hand, full of excitement.
Lu Zhonglin said, "Adventures!"
Puyi met Lu Zhonglin, and under the introduction of Shen Bochun, he shook hands with the others one by one. When introduced to Xiong Bingkun, Puyi said excitedly: "Long look up!" On October 10, 1911, the Wuchang Uprising, Xiong Bingkun led the engineers to attack first, occupying the Chuwangtai Armory, known as "Xiong Bingkun who fired the first shot of the Xinhai Revolution".
The reporters were ready to leave a photo for their reunion, and Lu Zhonglin and Xiong Bingkun must let Puyi sit in the middle. Lu Zhonglin also humorously said, who made you the "emperor"!
After taking the photo and talking about the end of the year, Puyi asked: "The bomb you dropped on the table is really terrible!"
Lu Zhonglin replied, "That's a hollow bullet!"
Puyi also said, "The cannon you arranged on Jingshan Mountain is even more terrifying!"
