On October 10, 1911, the Wuchang Uprising broke out. On February 12, 1912, under the operation of Yuan Shikai, the last emperor Puyi abdicated. Yuan Shikai did not drive Puyi out of the Forbidden City, and Puyi still had eunuchs and palace women serving by his side. The government of the Republic of China also provides 4 million taels of silver for Puyi every year.

At 9:00 a.m. on November 5, 1924, Lu Zhonglin, regent Huang Gao, Beijing police superintendent Zhang Bi, and celebrity Li Shizeng and four others set off from the Beijing Guard Headquarters by car, taking 40 military and police officers straight to ShenwuMen. Lu Zhonglin and his party marched all the way from the Shenwu Gate, entered the Forbidden City, and went straight to the old site of the former military aircraft office of longzong gate. Soon, the ministers of internal affairs Shaoying and Rongyuan came to see him, and Lu Zhonglin showed the instructions of the president and revised the preferential conditions for the qing room, limiting Shaoying to urge Puyi to accept the instructions within two hours, abolish the imperial trumpet, move out of the Forbidden City, and hand over various public and private goods.

At 16:10, Puyi and his descendants, concubines and relatives left the Forbidden City. Lu Zhonglin escorted Puyi to the residence of the Alcohol King's Mansion located at the Houhai Ganshi Bridge.

In front of the palace of the Alcohol King, Lu Zhonglin and Puyi met for the first time and asked, "Puyi, will you still be called emperor in the future?" Or do you consider yourself a civilian? ”

Puyi replied: "Since I have accepted the amendment to the preferential conditions for the Qing Dynasty, of course, I have abolished the imperial title and am willing to be a commoner of the Republic of China." ”

On October 10, 1911, the Wuchang Uprising, Xiong Bingkun led the engineers to attack first, occupying the Chuwangtai Armory, known as "Xiong Bingkun who fired the first shot of the Xinhai Revolution".
