Jiangyong, Hunan: Yao compatriots celebrate Panwang Festival

On November 30, 2020, Yao compatriots in Jiangyong County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, held a grand event to celebrate the Panwang Festival, a traditional Yao festival, with songs and dances. Panwang Festival is a major festival for the Yao people to sacrifice their ancestors, panning, and an important event to inherit Chinese Yao culture and Yao etiquette, which is held every year on the 16th day of the 10th month of the lunar calendar.
