Street graffiti, rock 'n' roll youth, classic national style... These seemingly unrelated elements are organically fused and expressed on the canvas. From September 5th to October 15th, "BUMP-BUMP" Rodin's solo exhibition was held at the Art Expo Gallery in the M50 Creative Park in Shanghai. During the exhibition, more than 30 works by the young artist from Chongqing over the past 10 years will be presented. From "Like a Flower or Not a Flower" in 2010, to "Tai Chi" in 2015, to "Like a Dream" in 2021, the theme of Rodin's works has always been related to music. In his pictures, various musical scenes are created, so that the audience has a sense of immersion like listening to music, and also "freezes" the moment of breaking free on the canvas.

Rodin's work looks like a noisy and restless rock scene from a distance, but when you look closely, there are very different details. The characters portrayed in the picture have tough lines and the action is expressive. In terms of details, the faces and clothing of the characters, including the musical instruments used, are covered with a layer of traditional Chinese culture. The shining stars and winding threads have also been preserved in Rodin's work over the past 10 years. This not only makes the picture more plump, but also a subconscious expression.

Rodin was born in 1981 in Chongqing, China. His father, Luo Zhongzhong, a famous contemporary painter who shook the world with a painting of "Father". As a child, Rodin was very naughty and was a well-known "mischievous" in the hospital, but his academic performance has always been among the best. Surprisingly, Rodin did not learn painting from an early age, but music. It was not until junior high school that Rodin picked up the paintbrush by chance and really began to learn to draw systematically. Rodin studied quickly and was successfully admitted to the Affiliated High School of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, and graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts with bachelor's degree and master's degree. His work is self-contained and distinctly different from his father's.

Luo Dan told reporters that the first time he left Chongqing was to go to Shanghai with his mother to pick up his father who returned from overseas studies, and that experience made a deep impression on him. As Rodin began his own painting journey, the first gallery with whom he worked for a long time was located in Shanghai. Today, Rodin and Shanghai "renew the frontier". He studied for a Ph.D. at the Academy of Fine Arts of Shanghai University and also placed an exhibition of his own personal works in Shanghai. "Every stage is a new beginning." Rodin said that he hopes that every visitor to the exhibition will find a picture related to him in the painting. It is understood that the exhibition will last until October 15.
