Later, villagers found a five-step snake with the thickness of an adult's arm near the site of the accident on the mountain. The villagers suspected that Uncle Liu was so badly injured that he should have been bitten by this big snake.
Due to this, Uncle Liu's situation continued to deteriorate. At about 11 o'clock that night, Uncle Liu was transferred to Lishui Central Hospital.
"When I first arrived at the hospital, Uncle Liu's head was very swollen, and the throat was edema and it was difficult to breathe, which was life-threatening at any time." Lai Linjie, the attending doctor of the emergency medicine department of Lishui Central Hospital, told reporters that he first intubated the trachea of the elderly to prevent suffocation, and then after examination, a wound suspected of snake bite was found in the head of the elderly, and the platelets in the blood of the elderly were particularly low, which was very consistent with the symptoms of the five-step snake bite.
After a detailed diagnosis, the doctor immediately injected the elderly with antivenom serum, and the number of platelets in the blood of the elderly has rebounded, and the condition has also improved, but it is not from the danger of life.
According to Lai Linjie, if it is not treated in time after being bitten by a five-step snake, it can cause bleeding from the internal organs, acidosis, tissue necrosis, and due to continuous bleeding, the amount of blood circulation decreases, and the risk of death is very high.
For patients who have been bitten by snakes, it is necessary to lie still as much as possible and avoid the movement of the injured limbs, so as to slow down the flow of blood and lymph and delay the spread of toxins in the body.
