On April 20, the official website of the Shaanxi Provincial Government released the "Notice of the People's Government of Shaanxi Province on the Dismissal of Du Peng": The provincial government decided on April 14, 2021 to dismiss Du Peng from the post of deputy director of the Management Committee of the Yangling Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Zone.
According to the public resume, Du Peng is a "post-80s", born in May 1980, from 1998 to 2005, he successively studied international politics in the Department of International Politics of the School of International Relations of Peking University, majored in communication in the School of Journalism and Communication, with a doctoral degree, a master of arts, and a doctorate in law.
After graduating in 2005, he stayed at his alma mater, Peking University, and served as a cadre in the Office of the Party Committee and the Office of the President of Peking University, and the director of the Dean's Office of Guanghua College of Peking University. In 2011, he became the Deputy Dean (Deputy Division Level) of the School of Architecture and Landscape Design at the age of 31.
In 2013, Du Peng was appointed Executive Vice Dean of the School of Software and Microelectronics at Peking University. In 2015, he went to Shaanxi to take up his post, and successively served as deputy secretary general of Yan'an Municipal Party Committee, deputy secretary general of Yan'an Municipal Party Committee, and deputy director of the Municipal New District Management Committee.
In 2017, Du Peng became the mayor of Baota District of Yan'an City. At that time, the Huashang Daily reported that Du Peng was a cadre trained by Peking University and suspended in Shaanxi, and after serving as the mayor of Baota District in Yan'an City, he became the first "post-80s" district (county) mayor in Shaanxi, and also the youngest district and county government leader in Shaanxi at that time.
In 2018, Du Peng was appointed mayor of Hancheng City (deputy department level), at the age of 38.
Since July 2019, Du Peng has served as a member of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Yangling Demonstration Zone until this time.
According to the official website of Yangling Demonstration Zone: "Shaanxi Yangling Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Zone", referred to as "Yangling Demonstration Zone", also known as "China Agricultural Science City", is China's first state-level agricultural high-tech industry demonstration zone, the only agricultural characteristics free trade area in China's pilot free trade zone, and also one of the four major science and technology exhibitions supported by the Chinese government "Agricultural High-tech Association". Yangling Demonstration Zone implements a leadership and management system jointly built by the province and the ministry. It is jointly built by 22 ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Shaanxi Province. The Party Working Committee of the Demonstration Zone is the designated agency of Shaanxi Province, and the Management Committee of the Demonstration Zone is the dispatched agency of the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, with the administrative management power at the prefectural and municipal levels and the economic management power at the provincial level.
