Hello everyone, I am Wang Xinyu, a senior student from Beijing Second College of Foreign Chinese, and I am very happy to have the opportunity to share my story with you today.
On March 10th this year, Beijing Second Foreign Chinese College set up the first college student epidemic prevention front-line volunteer service team in the capital, our team is very special, the average age is 21 years old, 30 student volunteers are "post-95", including 8 "post-00", in the Shunyi New National Exhibition Inbound Passenger Transfer and Distribution Center for 13 days, we undertake the translation task of diverting and registering overseas passengers to Beijing, and at the same time cooperate with the completion of material distribution, data statistics, copy processing and other work, with an average daily working hour of 10 hours. Offline and online linkage, our school also undertakes the 12345 citizen hotline to provide an online translation service team covering 8 languages for Shijingshan District.
Epidemic prevention and control is everyone's responsibility, and watching my parents participate in the epidemic prevention and control work in the community, I am also encouraged and feel that young people should be more involved. So when the teacher called at 11 p.m. to ask if I would like to participate in this volunteer service, I did not hesitate to sign up. At noon the next day, I arrived at the new national exhibition station for rapid training, and I thought to myself, as a language volunteer at the transfer point, I must strictly guard the entrance gate for the capital.
During the translation process, I built a bridge of communication for the staff and passengers of various provinces, dutifully completed the translation task, explained the latest epidemic prevention policies and related isolation regulations to them, guided them to fill in the information form in strict accordance with the unified requirements, and cooperated with the completion of registration and transfer isolation work. When Chinese citizens returning from abroad who have had an emotional breakdown due to unexpected emergencies such as lost luggage, no way to transfer, and no battery on their mobile phones came to the consultation desk for help, I patiently communicated with them, soothed their emotions, and provided them with relevant information to help. When there were volunteer students who needed to rest due to physical discomfort, I stood up and took the initiative to replace the class and share the work. In the 11 consecutive days of work, every time when the goggles were soaked by the fog and could not see the road at all, when the calves were sore and cramped due to the long working hours of standing, when the rush in front of the provincial workbench, when I left the new national exhibition at 1:30 a.m. to look at the dark night outside, I had a deep sense of mission, usually being a student in school is a protected role, this time I can use professional knowledge to guard our city and our home, I can also protect others, It's a very real feeling of growing up.
In the new national exhibition, there are not only us college student volunteers, but also many staff who register information and check contacts in various provinces and districts and counties of Beijing Municipality; there are headquarters and working groups sent by the Beijing Municipal Youth League Municipal Committee and the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office to ensure the smooth operation of the new national exhibition; there are police personnel who ensure the safety and stability of the new national exhibition distribution point; and there are staff responsible for the elimination of safety and catering guarantees for the new national exhibition. Together, we have witnessed the process of distributing points from scratch, from empty halls to the orderly division of various regions, and have seen the most anxious passengers, the most helpless passengers, the most complex passengers, the largest high-intensity operation; we have also witnessed the continuous deepening of the foreign defense import work and the multi-effectiveness of various national policies and measures, and the new national exhibition has gradually returned to a calm and stable appearance. At 00:00 on March 30, the New National Exhibition Center ended its mission as a temporary transit distribution center for inbound Passengers from Beijing Capital Airport.
