More than 100 financial personnel observed the trial of the corruption case

According to the Yijiang District People's Procuratorate, between June 2010 and September 2020, defendant Deng X, while serving as the cashier and director of the office of a company in Wuhu City, took advantage of his position as a cash check and transfer check of the company in his custody and was responsible for the company's cash business and the receipt and expenditure of related funds, and adopted the method of directly withdrawing cash with cash checks outside the company's books, transferring the company's funds to his personal bank account or the account of a designated person, and repeatedly withdrawing cash and transferring money from the company's three bank accounts. A total of more than 5.1 million yuan of embezzled public funds were used for personal consumption, family purchase of real estate, return of mortgages, purchase of vehicles, tourism expenditure, children going abroad, and return of personal loans.

The public prosecution organ held that defendant Deng, as a state functionary, took advantage of his position to embezzle a total of more than 5.1 million yuan of public funds from the unit, an amount of which was particularly huge, and his conduct violated the provisions of articles 382 and 383 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China, the facts of the crime were clear, the evidence was indeed sufficient, and he should be investigated for criminal responsibility for the crime of embezzlement. During the trial, the prosecution and defense presented evidence, cross-examined evidence, and expressed their opinions around the focus of the dispute. The defendant pleaded guilty and repented in court. Sentencing in this case will be announced at a later date.
