Kento Yamazaki joins the film version of "Into the Gate of Summer"

The novel "Into the Gates of Summer" by American science fiction master Robert Heinlein will be adapted into a Japanese film starring Kento Yamazaki, directed by Takahiro Miki ("She at the Sun", "Tomorrow's Me And Yesterday's You Date"), and Yuya Sugano ("She in the Sun") as the screenwriter.

Set in Tokyo in 1995, the protagonist, Soichiro Takakura (Kento Yamazaki), inherits the will of his deceased father's friend Matsushita to study plasma batteries and lives a stable life with petite and Matsushita's daughter, Riko. However, Soichiro was betrayed by his partners and fiancée, his company, robots under development and batteries were plundered, and he himself was put into a frozen sleep device, waking up to Tokyo in 2025. After learning of the death of petite and Riko, Soichiro, who has lost everything, decides to cross 30 years of time and space to carry out a revenge.

The film is expected to be released in Japan in 2021.
