A Madman's "A Beautiful Mind"

A Beautiful Mind is a drama film released on December 21, 2001, which tells the story of John Forbes Nash, a mathematician with schizophrenia who devoted himself to the field of game theory and differential geometry and won the Nobel Prize in economics.

John Nash was a mathematical genius from West Virginia who was good at observing everything in life and also tried to describe life with mathematical reasoning. Such as the rugby game outside the window, the rules of the pigeon movement and the women who chase the wallet thief. His famous game theory was inspired by observations in bars about the pursuit of Nelson. He is reclusive by nature, behaves strangely, does not like to socialize, and is incompatible with the lives of his classmates. This is in stark contrast to his mathematical genius. From this, Charles, the prodigal son's roommate, was imagined by him.

Nash was afraid of failure and could not even accept failure. In the movie, Martin challenges Nash to play chess, and when Nash loses, he can't accept reality, stands up in a panic, and even overturns the board. Unable to write his paper, Nash sat barefoot on the library windowsill, looking utterly depressed. The frustration of reality is only a heart that Charles can soothe, and of course Charles combines the characteristics of Nash's classmates. Classmates deny Nash, but Charles, instead, keeps encouraging Nash, saying he's a genius. This is one of the reasons why Charles was fantasized about.

Martin boasted in front of Nash: "I have two weapons papers that have been reviewed by the Department of Defense for security. Nash's response was: "Uncreative waste." "Nash drills the horns in pursuit of truly original theories. This is his persistent pursuit of success. Nash was a man who could not accept failure, and the greater the achievement, the more he was afraid of failure. His anxiety about failure prompted defense official Patchell to hallucinate. Nash's deep pursuit of honor is evident in the look in Professor Max's eyes as he receives the pens of the crowd.

Nash did not attach importance to the feelings between people, not only did he not like to associate with his classmates, but he also had no interest in the relationship between men and women at first. In the bar he pranked a girl who had been slapped as much as he could see. When he met his future wife, Alyssa, he was deeply attracted to her. So the little girl Marsh was fantasized by him. When Nash first saw Marsh, Marsh said, "My uncle said you were smart but not friendly, so if you treat me badly, I shouldn't bother." It can be seen from this that Nash longs for love, but is afraid that Alyssa will leave, so he fantasizes about a person who will not be far away from him because he is not good. Marsh was a young girl, as if symbolizing Nash's ignorance of love.

The three characters of Nash's fantasies are not so much an outbreak of schizophrenia as it is a self-healing of his own soul.
