When maggots are found to occur, after harvesting leeks, cover the ground with plastic film and press tightly around to raise the ground temperature to 40 degrees to kill the larvae of the soil. Generally, it is necessary to suffocate for about 3 days, and the plastic film during the suffocation period should be pressed tightly, and the anti-leakage air should reduce the ground temperature, affecting the suffocating effect. In addition, the cap membrane isolates the egg-laying habit of adult insects tending to leek odor, reducing adult eggs in leek land.
Grass and wood ash control method
Combine the sun-dried roots and sprinkle grass ash around the leek roots when burying the soil. Or when root maggots occur, directly ditch the strips to apply grass and wood ash, kill the root maggots, and use an amount of 20 to 30 kg per acre. It can also be sprayed with 1:5 grass and wood ash leaching aqueous solution. The use of grass and trees not only eliminates insects, but also plays a role in topdressing.
