Every time the reporter goes to the grassroots level in the New Year| what makes us meet her, him, and her in the hospital during the Spring Festival

All encounters in the world are unexpected and predestined.

Another year of "New Year to the grassroots". The people we meet have "accidents", have not met, do not know what characteristics are; there are also "destined": no matter what characteristics, someone must meet us because they are stuck in that place.

Today is February 15th, the fourth day of the first lunar month, and most hospital outpatient clinics will resume their daily hustle and bustle. In fact, the year of the ox for medical staff has already set off.

Recall that before the countdown to the Spring Festival Gala, the host had sent four congratulatory speeches, of which the "finale" sentence was "the health of all the people". To achieve such a good blessing, medical staff is an important part.

Starting from the 28th day of the lunar month, the Daily Economic News reporter has interviewed 3 medical staff of the West China Hospital of Sichuan University. They have one thing in common: they can't Chinese New Year's Eve home.

She returned from the "war epidemic" in Wuhan: I can't remember how many Chinese New Year's Eve have not been at home

Interviewee: Attending physician of the Department of Rheumatology, West China Hospital, Sichuan University

Interviewed: February 9 (28th of February) 16:30

"When I was a child, I was a very timid person who didn't like to study medicine." ——On February 9, Liu Yi said this in an interview with reporters at the outpatient building.

But it is such a person who "does not like to study medicine" and has been a doctor for 16 years.

Who put her on the path of practicing medicine? The answer: her grandfather.

Liu Yi said that his grandfather was born in Shuxiangmendi, and was a very prestigious person in the county, "his cultivation is admired by many people", and his grandfather also gave Liu Yi the influence of human life and literary knowledge. Liu Yi originally wanted to study economics, but a year before the college entrance examination, grandpa fell ill, and grandpa especially hoped that a doctor could be produced in the family, so that he could understand the condition more conveniently. Liu Yi and her grandfather have a deep affection, so she feels that "since you want me to learn, I will learn." At the same time, Liu Yi believes that he is a very serious person, so after really becoming a doctor, "he still has to do it well."

Perhaps because of her grandfather's influence, but also because she herself has the desire to "do her best to help others", this once "very timid person" made a brave decision: in February 2020, she took the initiative to sign up for the medical team in Wuhan.

At the time, her 9-year-old eldest son cried and expressed his reluctance to let her go, but that didn't shake her resolve. She left a letter when her son was asleep, which said: "Everyone has a small family behind them, there are relatives, why is it that such a serious epidemic situation, everyone still comes without hesitation?" Remember what my mother said yesterday: If you profit from the life and death of a country, you will avoid it because of misfortune. This is what Mr. Lin Zexu said. He said this at a time of the Opium War, at a time of internal and external troubles. Although we don't have any war now, the virus has also brought a great blow to the country, and many people have lost their lives because of the virus. Mom is a doctor, in the period of infection must stand in front of you, hope you understand. (For details, see the "Daily Economic News" report on February 8, 2020: "Doctors of West China Hospital left a message to their son before going out to Wuhan: "Profiting the life and death of the country, is it better to avoid it because of misfortune")

After writing this letter, she left home to "stand in front": on February 7, 2020, Liu Yi was one of the fifth batch of Sichuan Medical Team supporting Wuhan, composed of 30 doctors, 100 nurses and 1 engineer from various departments of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, to Wuhan. Liu Yi and her colleagues took over more than 60 beds in two critical wards in the East Branch of Wuhan University People's Hospital, and more than 30 doctors "worked in four shifts".

During his time in Wuhan, Liu Yi was impressed by the hotel's security uncle, the bus shuttle driver who transported doctors to and from work, and a patient's mother-in-law.

The impression given to Liu Yi by the hotel security uncle is: very warm. As mentioned above, their group of doctors is "four shifts", but whether she finishes the day shift or the night shift, she will not pass through the "empty lobby" after returning to the hotel, but will meet this security uncle, who will take the temperature of the doctors and say: Hard.

The hospital is more than 3 km from the hotel, so doctors and nurses have to take a bus shuttle bus to and from work. No matter how many shifts the medical staff commute to and from work, there are drivers waiting. As long as the paramedics stay in the hotel, the drivers stay in the hotel for as long as they want. Many drivers' homes are close to the hotel, but they have all signed a pledge to return home after medical staff evacuate Wuhan and drivers have completed quarantine.

During Liu Yi's stay in Wuhan, she also met a patient mother-in-law who was a bit "temperamental". This mother-in-law is a severe new crown pneumonia patient, before hospitalization, because of long-term bed rest, poor digestive function. After she entered the hospital, she made various requests, such as wanting to eat tofu milk, at this time Liu Yi happened to receive tofu milk sent to her by her colleagues, ready to accompany the meal at the cleaning area, so the colleagues decided to give the tofu milk to the patient's mother-in-law. Two days later, the mother-in-law proposed that sesame oil bibimbap be used to eat the rice, so colleagues found sesame oil from the hotel canteen and brought it to the mother-in-law. In short, it is all kinds of "coaxing to eat" that makes her nutritional status improve. Later, after two nucleic acid tests, the mother-in-law determined that she could be discharged but was unwilling to be discharged, because she felt that it was not easy to find "someone who was so good to her" when she went out.

The doctor, who fought in the frontline of the fight against the epidemic in Wuhan in February 2020, told reporters in an interview on February 9, a year later, that she still had to be on duty at the Chinese New Year's Eve this year, checking the room in the first year and going to the outpatient clinic on the fifth day of the first year. Asked by reporters how many Chinese New Year's Eve had not been with her family, she said she could not remember. When she told her family that she Chinese New Year's Eve on duty this year, the family's reaction was: Oh, okay. Because her family knew that she could not change shifts, nor could she not be on duty.

Talking about the profession of doctors and the understanding of the doctor-patient relationship, Liu Yi said: "Doctors and patients stand on the same front, and our common enemy is disease. Trust the doctor a little more so that we can better overcome the disease." Although the "wounded doctor" incident is depressing, she still wants to do her best to help others, and doesn't the old saying that "good intentions are rewarded"?

If the doctor's meal is circled, then the patient Aunt Tang must be a loyal fan of Dr. Liu Yi.

"Dr. Liu is particularly modest and gentle." On the day of the interview, Aunt Tang learned that she was interviewing Dr. Liu and felt that she must say two words. She first opened her mobile phone and showed the reporter her registration record, "All of them are Dr. Liu's number."

"I didn't hang up on her number in the first few months of last year. I guess she went to Wuhan to help. For Liu Yi, Aunt Tang is very confident and trustworthy. In the second half of last year, when Aunt Tang met Liu Yi who returned to Chengdu in the ward, she also immediately took out the medical records for Dr. Liu to help her see, and after hearing Liu Yi say that the problem was not big, Aunt Tang was really full of confidence.

At the end of the interview, the reporter asked Liu Yi which historical figure left the deepest impression on her, and what was the reason? Liu Yi answered: Wen Tianxiang. Because Wen Tianxiang wrote a poem "Crossing zero Ding Yang", in addition, her grandfather was also surnamed Wen.

Feelings of home and country, let us meet Liu Yi this Spring Festival.

He has 20 alarms set on his phone: "I like" my profession

Interviewee: Cheng Tao, physician in the emergency department of West China Hospital, Sichuan University

Interviewed: 14:00 on February 10 (29th of February) and 23:00 on February 11 (Chinese New Year's Eve).

In Cheng Tao's words: From noon on February 10 to noon on February 23, he will "stay away" from the emergency department.

This also means that Cheng Tao's wife can't see her husband during the entire Spring Festival. So, his wife simply went back to her mother's house to visit her parents.

Such a Spring Festival experience is the fifth consecutive time in Cheng Tao's career.

On the afternoon of February 10, when the Daily Economic News reporter first interviewed Cheng Tao, he stood behind the triage desk of the emergency department. The surrounding medical staff and patients came and went, and the environment was extremely noisy, which made the Shandong Hanzi more quiet.

He has predicted the patient situation that may be encountered during the Spring Festival, "the proportion of critically ill patients (in West China Hospital) is significantly higher than usual." Part of the reason is that there are more patients transferred during this period.

Regarding the work arrangement of these two weeks, Cheng Tao also sent 3 screenshots to reporters. The images show that he has 20 alarm alerts set up on his phone. The overall time runs from 7:12 a.m. to 11:26 p.m., some only on Mondays, and some every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Not only the Spring Festival, during his tenure as chief resident physician, he would conduct night rounds every day, carry out professional skills such as pericardial puncture and fiber bronchoscopy, organize the rescue of critically ill patients, and participate in the discussion of various difficult cases and deaths. In addition, it will also participate in the management of part of the department.

For the Spring Festival for 5 consecutive years, Cheng Tao saw it very thoroughly, "all walks of life have stuck to their posts during the Spring Festival, everyone is very hard", and as a doctor, saving lives and helping the injured in the Spring Festival is also a professional mission.

This professional mission was born on another Spring Festival in his life. On the second day of the Chinese New Year when he was a student, my grandfather, who looked very good in the morning, suddenly left in the afternoon, and even the hospital did not have time to go. Coupled with the fact that he has always been worried about his mother's not very good physical condition, Cheng Tao is determined to study medicine.

There were many directions to study medicine, and he chose the emergency department. This department is well known for its "difficulty". In January 2016, People's Daily also published an article focusing on the group of emergency doctors: because of the nature of the work itself, "it is difficult to recruit people for emergency posts" has become the status quo of emergency institutions in many parts of the country. At the same time, academic studies have shown that the dissatisfaction rate of emergency department medical staff with their personal working environment, workload, work pressure, salary, and overall feelings generally exceeds 52.5%.

But when Cheng Tao talked about the emergency department, he used "special like" to express it, and used a sense of accomplishment to explain the reason for liking. "After professional rescue, the patient's condition stabilized and improved, and the sense of achievement at that time was actually very large." When it comes to the future of emergency care, his mouth is also full of expectations. Cheng Tao believes that after years of development, the emergency department has become more and more attractive, and he also believes that in the future, the emergency department will attract more talents and more outstanding medical students will become "emergency patients".

When recalling the worst of the epidemic last year, Cheng Tao once again emphasized his sense of professionalism from another perspective. He was in the fever clinic of West China Hospital at that time, and he had been in contact with suspected cases and confirmed cases, but he felt that the pressure was not great, "because we have undergone professional training, and the hospital has also fully guaranteed us occupational protective articles." Under such conditions, in fact, the pressure is not much."

Perhaps it is the rational and professional emergency doctor identity that makes Cheng Tao speak with a smell of "steel straight man". For example, this question --

"What's the biggest thing that breaks you down?"

Cheng Tao replied: "Obviously I see that this patient has therapeutic value, but for various reasons... Whether it is economic or other family reasons, and then the family gives up, this is actually a pity... At that time, it was indeed a collapse. ”

Another example is this question:

"When rescuing a patient, what are your more thrilling stories?"

He replied: "When rescuing, the brain is running at high speed, thinking about how to rescue the patient and find out what causes the patient's condition to change as soon as possible... There really wasn't much energy and time to make our experience thrilling. If you must say that there is, it may be more of a patient turning the crisis into safety, or a family member's 'thank you, hard'. ”

Of course, using "straight man of steel" to refer to Cheng Tao is only "apparent understanding". Although Cheng Tao's answers seem to be more than rational, it is not difficult to appreciate that they contain a sense of professional mission that has been internalized in the heart to save lives and help the injured.

Professionalism, let us meet Cheng Tao this Spring Festival.

She has a "bad relationship" with Chinese New Year's Eve on duty: look at work from a different perspective

Interviewee: Dai Min, pre-examination triage nurse, Emergency Department, West China Hospital, Sichuan University

Interviewed: 13:00 on February 10 (29th of February) and 23:50 on February 11 (Chinese New Year's Eve).

The triage desk is a simple consultation desk in the eyes of many patients. But after listening to the introduction of Dai Min, a pre-examination triage nurse in the emergency department of West China Hospital, you will know that this position is not simple.

After the patient arrives at the emergency department, the triage nurse will classify the patient's condition according to the priority of the patient's condition and the medical resources required, accurately identify the acute and critical patients, assess the risk of the patient, decide which department the patient should see in the emergency department, and whether to enter the rescue room, chest pain center or ordinary diagnosis room, so as to ensure safe, timely and orderly treatment. They then provide patients with guidance on what to do next. Therefore, the triage nurses of West China Hospital are called "West China PHS".

Dai Min, one of the "PHS", is a native of Zigong, Sichuan, and after graduating in 2013, she has been working at West China Hospital in Chengdu, Sichuan. Since then, of the 8 Chinese New Year's Eve, at least 6 of her have been on duty.

"Change a district, change a group, just the turn of the (new group in the new district) Chinese New Year's Eve (on duty)." Dai Min said. This year, she is also on duty Chinese New Year's Eve, although it is the evening shift (referring to the first 10 pm to the next day 8 am), she can eat at home in advance, but at the New Year's Eve, she can only spend behind the triage desk.

There is no television around the triage desk in the emergency department, so you can't see the New Year's countdown to the Spring Festival Gala and you can't hear the bells of the Year of the Ox. "There's not a little Bit of New Year's atmosphere." After the reporter finished speaking, Dai Min pointed to the glass door and said: "Yes, there are red characters on the glass, which is the Atmosphere of the New Year." ”

She also said that there is a wall clock in front of the triage desk, which can see the specific time. But in fact, a few minutes before the New Year's Eve, there are still patients who come to the triage desk to inquire, her eyes have been staring at the computer screen, occasionally looking at the counselor, and I don't know if she noticed that the hands of the wall clock on the wall have quietly entered the Year of the Ox.

Every time the reporter goes to the grassroots level in the New Year| what makes us meet her, him, and her in the hospital during the Spring Festival

At 0:01 on February 12 (the first day of the first lunar month), Dai Min (first from the right) and his colleagues are answering inquiries

During the Spring Festival, no fewer people come to the emergency department of West China Hospital than usual, mostly because of car accidents, alcohol or pancreatitis. If it is a small problem, patients are generally reluctant to go to the doctor Chinese New Year's Eve or the first day of the first year, so the patients who come to the doctor are more serious. In addition, like Dr. Cheng Tao, she also mentioned that there will be more serious patients transferred during the Spring Festival.

Recalling the feeling of Chinese New Year's Eve on duty for the first time, she first "rendered" it, "The previous words may have been at home for the New Year... I felt that it was time for everyone to go home together and have a reunion dinner together after the New Year", and then the conversation turned sharply, but said that the New Year in the hospital was "actually quite lively". Nurses like to take out their hometown specialties and taste them together during the New Year or festival, "like a food appreciation meeting", where everyone tastes and praises each other for being delicious.

Because the Spring Festival after graduation did not return to their hometown to pay tribute, the childhood habit of going to my grandfather's house to pay respects in the second year of junior high school has been abandoned for a long time. However, Dai Min did not feel that the spring festival of human feelings is weak, she said, after the Spring Festival home is the same, what to do, should pay homage to the New Year, and then should send red envelopes to send red packets, should receive red envelopes to receive red packets, is the same, "just the time has changed."

In interviews, she also likes to look at her work from this perspective. For example, Chinese New Year's Eve is on duty more, "there are some things that you will cherish more, such as if you let me go home now, if I can have a reunion dinner, [I will feel] very happy." 」 In the past, you thought that the winter vacation and summer vacation and the like, (a month) felt very little, but now I can give me two or three days, I feel very satisfied. ”

Although she is very good at looking at work from a positive perspective, she is not unaware of what negativity is.

Toward the end of the interview, the reporter said that many medical staff have a unique sentence that describes the state of busyness: even the time to drink a sip of water is difficult to find.

Dai Min seemed to feel empathy, and suddenly his voice was a little higher: That is the most basic (state).

But when the reporter asked her if she had such a sentence to describe the state of busyness, she flatly refused, thinking that such a description might make her fall into a negative vortex, and the more she thought about it, the more uncomfortable she became.

Every time the reporter goes to the grassroots level in the New Year| what makes us meet her, him, and her in the hospital during the Spring Festival

At 0:06 on February 12 (the first day of the Chinese New Year), Dai Min's colleagues, Li Jin (first from the left), emergency department nurses who took their temperature at the entrance of the emergency department, and Tang Xiaofang

Dai Min, like Cheng Tao, repeatedly stressed in interviews that all walks of life are busy. At this moment, the reporter suddenly has a little doubt: perhaps people emphasize that "everyone is busy" while they are busy, not really modest, but to comfort themselves and adjust their mentality.

Optimistic and positive, let us meet Dai Min this Spring Festival.
