After more than two years of preparation and filming, the film "The End of the Sea is the Grassland" directed by Er Dongsheng was officially launched yesterday on the grassland of Inner Mongolia.
Based on the true historical events of "Three Thousand Orphans Entering Inner Mongolia", the film recreates the past of the republic 60 years ago, which was forever engraved on the historical monument and flowed with the great love of the nation:

It is reported that "The End of the Sea is the Grassland" will be released nationwide in 2022.
<h2>Er Dongsheng VLOG recorded the shooting process </h2>
In order to present this legendary past full of great love on the big screen, Er Dongsheng began to adjust the script and make preparations as early as 2019, but because of the epidemic, the film was not officially launched until the beginning of this year.
To this end, Er Dongsheng led his production team to arrive in Hengdian during the Spring Festival in 2021 to start the preparatory work before filming, and then rushed to Inner Mongolia to brave the minus 20 degree Celsius to explore Hohhot, Xilingol League, Ulagai Grassland and surrounding areas.
Er Dongsheng revealed that this play may be the most difficult and complicated drama in his production process since the film, and the work of surveying the scenery alone is a huge project.
Because the grassland climate is changeable, the scenery seen in winter becomes completely different in the spring, and the venue that was originally suitable for shooting will become unsuitable for shooting after a rain.
To this end, Er Dongsheng led the team to travel back and forth between Inner Mongolia and Hengdian for more than three months, repeatedly calculating the actual distance of each scene with the director team and the production team, recording various relevant data, and discussing and formulating a reasonable production process in order to ensure the shooting effect in the production and try not to waste every investment.

In the process of surveying, Er Dongsheng also often exchanged and studied with local ethnic experts and historical consultants, and made a rigorous investigation of the changes in ethnic customs in different eras in order to achieve a sense of realism in artistic details.
Er Dongsheng said that in doing so, first, it is necessary to fully respect history and respect the customs of ethnic minorities; second, only by making the details real can the actors be given more real space to play.
"The End of the Sea is the Grassland" was launched in Hengdian on April 15, and transferred to Inner Mongolia on May 16.
During the filming in Inner Mongolia, the crew experienced the various "tests" brought by climate change on the grassland for the film shooting: the wind on the grassland that "blows for 5 seconds will feel painful", the sudden heavy rain, the temperature difference between day and night, the exposure to the sun and the extreme weather such as hail, all of which caused a lot of difficulty to the shooting, but because the preparation work was sufficient, the shooting work was not greatly affected, and after nearly four months of shooting, it was finally successfully completed on August 9.
