Born in Hong Kong in 1955, Cheng Kui'an, a child who could not afford to pay tuition fees due to his poor family, dropped out of school at the age of 13 and entered the Shaw Film Studio as a handyman, doing dirty and tiring work. Later, he felt that there was no future in this way, so at the age of 16, he was introduced by a friend to a dance hall as a thug. It was also during that period that he met some righteous friends on the road and joined the gang ever since. While being a thug is quite dangerous, the income is much higher than in ordinary jobs.

In 2004, when Cheng Kui'an was filming "Himalayan Star" in India, he coughed up blood on the set, and he returned to Hong Kong for examination after filming for more than half a month, and the results were found to be advanced nasopharyngeal cancer. Fortunately, after chemotherapy, I recovered well. The doctor told him to check regularly, but then he was busy filming, coupled with his love of motorsport, which led to the spread of the disease, induced liver cancer, delayed the best treatment time, lost fifty or sixty pounds, and finally died on August 27, 2009, at the age of 54. On the day of the funeral, Ren Dahua, Lu Huiguang and hundreds of other celebrities came to the scene to bid a final farewell to Cheng Kui'an, and the funeral was organized by a group of former friends such as benefactor Li Xiuxian.
