Zhang Chen, a native of Funiushan, the lord of Vientiane Zhai, a native of Ruzhou, Henan, was born in 1954, a member of the first batch of calligraphy and art colleges in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, and graduated from the xingcao graduate class. Calligraphy began with Tang Kai, and later traced back to Seal, Li, Han Jian, Wei Bei, Shifa Erwang, Zhang Xu, Huai Su, Mi Fu, Fu Shan, etc., and successively studied under Wu Zhongqi, Wei Tianchi, Zhang Hai, and Zhou Huijun. He is currently the president of Funiushan Calligraphy and Painting Institute in Ruzhou City and the honorary president of Dukang Calligraphy and Painting Institute in Ruyang County.
