Introduction: The dream of bookworm Catherine Moran (Jones) comes true, and she fulfills her wildest fantasy in Bath, finding herself adored by two men, not one, but two. Oh, my God! Our heroine visits a mysterious Gothic castle, and then things get, very spicy.
Comments: Moran's dreams about her crush, Henry Tierney (Feld), are arguably the best part of the film. If it weren't for these reverie, I truly believe they would end up being enemies, which is perhaps what Austin had hoped for—but not me.
<h1 class= "pgc-h-arrow-right" > 10th In Bride and Prejudice (2004</h1>).
Starring: Aisyvaya Ray / Martin Henderson / Anupan Kyle / Navion Andreews / Namratta Slovka
Description: In this remake of Pride and Prejudice, American hotel owner Will Darcy (Henderson) meets the farmer's daughter Lalita Baxy (Ray) at a wedding, and romantic entanglements are mixed with super catchy musicals.
Comments: Just because it's a Bollywood adaptation doesn't mean it's a brief steam eye contact. In fact, that means there's a whole bunch of them. Unfortunately, I find myself focusing more on down-to-earth musical numbers like "Life Without a Wife" than on the chemistry of Lilita and Darcy.

Introduction: When you're as rich and beautiful as Emma Woodhouse (Paltrow), you're allowed to interfere in someone else's love life — even if the men around you (especially your sister's brother-in-law and your potential object) hate to do so. This is actually Jane Austen's law.
Comments: When I realized that Emma was 21 and Mr. Knightley was 37, I put a tick in my mind. Something that was too different in age didn't fit me, even though it was the social norm of that era.

Starring: Emma Thompson / Kate Winslet / Hugh Grant / Alan Rickman / Tom Wilkinson / Gemma Jones
Description: After Mr. Dashwood's death, his surviving family was forced to move into a small house on a large estate in the countryside. There, the Dashwood sisters, Elinor (Thompson) and Marianne (Winslet), find themselves dealing with their own affairs.
Comments: Thompson's first attempt at writing a script is as cute as you think. This may be partly because we see Austin through the eyes of women. Or maybe it was because Rickman's deep voice was just doing something to me. Overall, the chemistry that some of the characters lack is compensated for by a really good plot.
<h1 class = "pgc-h-arrow-right" > 7th place BJ Single Diary (2001</h1>).
Starring: Renee Zellweger / Colin Firth / Hugh Grant / Jim Browder Bent / Shirley Henderson / Sally Phillips / James Calis
Description: Britt Jones (Zellweger), in his thirties, is very unhappy in love and spends his days obsessing over Daniel Cleaver (Grant), the owner of "Pemberley Press.". She was anxious to change herself, and in the new year, she began to work hard to improve herself. The annoying and charismatic Mark Darcy (Firth) just needs to get him to leave!
Comments: This loose adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is fun and checks out the necessary boxes for all the beloved early '00s romantic comedies: a lover with good hair (Grant), a smoking problem, and a woman who thinks she doesn't know how to flirt, but it does. You will not be able to eat, but you will still look forward to the ridicule of the Regency era.

Description: Beverly Hills high school student Cher Horowitz (Silverstone) has it all, but still finds himself tired of the daily high school drama. When the new girl, Tai Frasier, shows up, Horowitz decides to give her a makeover (to give her a match), worthy of Emma Woodhouse.
Comments: The film's impact on pop culture is legendary, from "If!" To the plaid on the plaid pants. I like to think that Jane Austen would be proud of Amy Heclin's adaptation of Emma. While there is chemistry between all the characters, the roadblock where Cher ends up with her former stepsister can be difficult to pass. But for Paul Luther's flannel wear, I'm happy to let go of my prejudices.

Comments: When I watched the film, my only comment was: "I like a man whose single facial expression says it all." Captain Wentworth left Mr. Darcy at a loss, and to be honest, I was obsessed.

Comments: This adaptation of the Austin miniseries is where it all begins. The play pushed Colin Feith to the forefront, especially his outfit after jumping into the lake, which made Elizabeth Bennett's blood boil. If this is your first contact with Austin, then you only believe this Darcy. If not, then, you know what's going on...

Review: Joe Wright's adaptation kicked off a whole new wave of Austin fans. I truly believe that which adaptation of Pride and Prejudice you watch first is your first choice. For me, it was the McFadden with an expression on his face. His longing eye contact gave me some serious goosebumps, and I cried crocodile tears at the end for no other reason than to let someone through the morning dew and tell me that they loved me.

Description: Charlotte Heywood was given a 19th-century opportunity when a wealthy family agreed to take her in their seaside villa in Sandyton. There, she meets a group of interesting characters, including a very handsome man, Sidney Parker.
Comments: This unfinished story of Jane Austen finally got its own adaptation in this eight-part series. And, my God, this is a work full of desire. It's sexy, it's drama, it's POC representation, it's got a problematic swimsuit, and best of all: a nude Theo James! What is its only drawback? There are no plans for the second season at present, and after watching the ending of the first season, I have not stopped my inner pleading, hoping to see more. Run, don't go, go and circulate this Austin adaptation.
