"Cattle Fly" from Arthur to Bullfly

author:Piao Haoyu

I must go my own way and follow the light I see. -------- cattle fly

The author of "The Bullfly" is an English revolution in Italy written by the Irish writer Ethel Lillian Voynich, telling the story of a young Italian Arthur, born into a wealthy merchant family, but resolutely committed to the revolution as an adult. Due to negligence, he leaks secrets, which leads to the arrest of his comrades-in-arms, misleads Akira's girlfriend, Chinma, and painfully discovers that he is the illegitimate son of Father Montanelli, whom he has long worshipped. Under the harsh education of reality, he used the fake suicide as a cover, ran away in anger, wandered outside for 13 years, experienced hardships, became a staunch revolutionary, alias "cattle fly", returned to China to organize armed forces, smuggled arms, and actively prepared for the uprising. In the end, he was unfortunately arrested, and in the face of the threat of the military and the persuasion of his biological father, he was unmoved and calmly righteous.

The influence of this book in China is very large, it should be said that it has influenced entire generations, everyone has a different view of the oxfly, the oxfly is the common hero of all of us. The biggest feature of "cattle fly" is strong, this kind of tempered strength. It is precisely because he is so strong that he can endure the pain that ordinary people cannot endure, so that he did not lose the battle in front of the affection of father and son, and only then did he dare to raise an eyebrow at the enemy's gun.

The biggest shock to me by this book was not the heroic deeds of the bullfly, but his encounter in the vaudeville team during his wanderings. Because of his slight deformity, he was asked to perform a hunchback and to do enough on the lame and broken arm; and the onlookers tortured the unfortunate man alive, even if he fainted, he still did, cheering, throwing things. Sometimes I wonder why bullflies are still carrying out his revolutionary cause, and is it really necessary to fight for such a social man?

Just as Chinma asked him why he didn't seek short-sightedness? The bullfly's answer is that if that's the case, what will happen to my career? Who will do my business for me? This is the power of faith.

This is also the reason why I especially admire Mr. Lu Xun, abandoning medicine and practicing literature, people's hearts are numb, even if the body is healed, the heart is still cold, and human blood steamed buns are spread in the world.

As Cardinal Montanelli, the biological father of the bullfly, cried out at the great sacrificial ceremony after the death of the bullfly (although it was he who killed his son): Fathers and fellow countrymen, today you have held a solemn marching ceremony, and I see that you are walking in the ranks, and you cannot suppress the joy in your hearts for your sinfulness, and you are deeply glad that you have been saved. But I ask you to think about the price at which your salvation was paid. That's really hard to come by! No amount of treasure can be exchanged! It was paid for with blood!

Especially in today's unstable world, we enjoy the peace and legacy left by our revolutionary ancestors, is it not necessary to follow the spirit of our predecessors more and achieve unity in the true sense, rather than indulging in personal material desires, serving the people, serving society, and realizing our own values?

I believe in humanitarianism, believe that everyone has good intentions, and that without the pressure of choice, we do our best to convey goodness, to transmit beauty, to promote truth, so that when real suffering comes, we can still live as a person, with dignity and a bottom line.

Just as learning can be improved through deliberate practice, our character and our humanity can actually be improved through ordinary practice. Do not do what is good and small, do not do it with evil, and encourage it together.

Alive or alive,

Dead is also true

Since then I have been forever

A happy bullfly.
