The War of Self-Defense against Vietnam was a very arduous defensive war for the domestic soldiers at that time, in which our side had production troops who had not been on the battlefield for decades, and the Vietnamese army had just experienced several battles, and the combativity of the soldiers had been greatly stimulated.
Such an unbalanced experience of the War of Resistance seems to have a certain degree of oppression on the war performance of our soldiers, but it still does not affect the emergence of excellent soldiers in our army, and soldier Li Zuocheng is one of them, and all veterans recall Li Zuocheng's performance in the war of self-defense against Vietnam, bluntly saying that he is not dead on the battlefield, both the hegemony of the Hunan people and the bloodiness of the Xiang army.

Li Zuocheng, who was ordered to embark on a counterattack against Vietnamese self-defense, was already a nine-year veteran in the army, but the real knife and gun war was the first time for him. Although it was his first time on the battlefield, Li Zuocheng's performance can be said to be like inspiring the chicken blood of the soldiers, and under his leadership, the soldiers charged into the battle without flinching.
When the war broke out, Li Zuocheng and his troops were given the task of cooperating with the main force in battle. The danger is that they must first infiltrate the battlefield as the main force and clear the obstacles ahead, which means that they are the first army to step into the battlefield, and the dangers that may exist in the front are all unknown.
In such an environment, it was inevitable that the troops would suffer casualties, and what stimulated Li Zuocheng was the sacrifice of his comrade-in-arms Yang Xicheng. Yang Xicheng and Li Zuocheng have a good private relationship, on the battlefield, they are soldiers who fight side by side; under the battlefield, they are very good personal friends, however, such a pair of good brothers are separated by heaven and man because of the fire of war.
It is said that when Yang Xicheng attacked the high ground, he was hit in the chest by a bullet flying out of the trench, and because of the direct blow, Yang Xicheng was killed on the spot. Such a life and death instantly inspired the courage of the soldiers of the whole company, and everyone turned their grief and anger into motivation, and the large knife slashed at the enemy more and more vigorously.
Also stimulated was Li Zuocheng, when he stepped into the battlefield, he had already regarded death as a homecoming, but the Vietnamese troops were very cunning, and the test brought to them was also very difficult, after the battle began, Li Zuocheng led his soldiers to attack the enemy.

Vietnamese soldiers have been on the battlefield for a long time, and the Vietnamese soldiers attacked by Li Zuocheng are among the best. In the airtight attack of war, Li Zuocheng chose to lead his soldiers to adjust their policies and look for enemy loopholes.
Under the suppression of the opponent's firepower, it is certainly not possible to break through the past, so adjusting tactics and operational arrangements is an inevitable choice.
He immediately ordered to abandon the simultaneous attack on two high ground, choose one of them for a fierce attack, in order to be able to take the fourth high ground faster, Li Zuocheng made a pioneering example to the soldiers, and one led seven fighters to start breaking into the enemy's trenches.
The Vietnamese soldiers were densely packed with barbed wire in front of the trenches, and if they wanted to cross directly, they were equivalent to becoming a living target for the Vietnamese soldiers.
Seeing that more soldiers were sacrificing, Li Zuocheng seemed to have lost his pain nerves, and directly reached out to lift the iron net, and the small hole exposed at the bottom was just enough for one person to pass, in such a situation, Li Zuocheng climbed over the barbed wire and began to advance towards the enemy's battle roar.
Obviously, his hands were blurred with flesh and blood, but as if he were unconscious, he stared closely at the movement in the enemy position. They suddenly appeared and killed an enemy caught off guard, and one of them quickly turned the muzzle of the gun at Li Zuocheng, who reacted quickly, stretched out his hands, and slammed the muzzle of the gun in the direction of the sky.
If it were not for Li Zuocheng risking his hand being burned to transfer the barrel, he would probably have died on the battlefield. However, the price paid in this way is also extremely high, because the bullet friction, the barrel of the gun heats up rapidly, and after Li Zuocheng killed the enemy, the wound in his hand has already shown a slime-like wound.
In a scuffle, Li Zuocheng's right arm was shot, and although the blood flowed continuously, it still did not relax Li Zuocheng's nerves. In his opinion, this was only a small wound, and with the attitude that the slight wound could not get out of the line of fire, Li Zuocheng began to lead the soldiers to attack the depths of the enemy army.
Such a death-defying attack stimulated our soldiers to constantly inspire courage in their hearts, and in the deafening sound of artillery fire, the troops led by Li Zuocheng surrounded the bunker where the remaining enemy was staying.
At this time, Li Zuocheng's arm was still bleeding, and the bullet was almost about to penetrate his right arm, but he still just chose to let the military doctor simply bandage the wound and then return to the front line to continue fighting.

He never regarded himself as a general, and when his soldiers had been arranged outside the bunker, Li Zuocheng chose to take the grenade and move it above the bunker himself, completely annihilating the remaining enemy, and this battle made Li Zuocheng's heroic deeds spread among the army.
The unexpected performance of the production troops in this war is heartening, and they fight with their lives and fight bravely. Looking at the casualty rate and achievements of Li Zuocheng's army, the soldiers were all amazed, they were the heroic army with the lowest cost of death in the army, but the merits were still outstanding.
Today, the era of peace has arrived, but those little memories are unforgettable moments for Li Zuocheng and his soldiers. In front of the camera, Li Zuocheng's veteran soldiers also recalled the company commander at that time, and he even commented that Li Zuocheng never fought on the battlefield, he had the hegemony of the Hunan people, and he was more bloody in the Xiang Army.
The individual spirit permeated the entire team, and it took less than a month for the PLA to attack most of the cities and villages. For the officers and men of our army, this war of self-defense against Vietnam is not a war of aggression in itself, our purpose is to teach the Vietnamese soldiers who harass the border, so they have achieved our strategic purpose when they return to their own defensive line.
In this war, we expressed our attitude toward the aggressors: we will never tolerate or let go, China has always been a country that pays attention to peace, and we will never wantonly invade other countries.
Rather than the guilt caused by aggression, we are more appreciative of a win-win situation in which peoples can live in peace. For our people, it is precisely because of the blood and struggle of these predecessors that we have the safe and bold living environment we have today.
