Lisbon Night Train: Life is a one-way train with no return

author:Water purification

On a rainy day, a teacher who "knows everything" in the crowd is on his way to work, and on a bridge, he meets a woman who looks short-sighted, and I thought it would be a story of encounters, like "The Dream of the Covered Bridge", but when I looked at it, I found that it was: "The world is very big, I want to see it." "Looking at it again, I found that I was biased, this is a story of finding my own life."

The standard life that follows the steps is suddenly derailed by the appearance of a woman, which makes a huge change in the unchanged life. Golegris, the son of a railroad worker, was also a Greek and Jewish genius. Because of teaching, he met his wife, who had been his student, and divorced after five years. He had been teaching at high school, but when he was nearly fifty years old, a Portuguese woman he met disrupted his life for decades. He took the wet woman to the school and class where he taught, and when the woman left, he followed after class. However, he avoided the search for his students and colleagues, wrote a resignation report to the principal, and then hitched a ride on the night train to Lisbon.

"We are always unable to see our lives, we can't see the front, and we don't understand the past. It's all a fluke. Goregris met the businessman Silvera on the train. On the train, they talked and kept themselves alone. As the train sped by, Golegris thought of his childhood. His mother was seriously ill and wanted to see the sea, but his father was resigned to his fate because of poverty. As a young man, he saw the money of the female vendor in Bei Heng Square, and he grabbed the paper money and ran. On the way, he thought that there was no way to explain the money to his parents, and chose to return the goods to their original owners. The episode of stealing money is an out-of-control situation in Golegris's past life, and he corrects it with his own intellect. Today's exodus and the exodus of that year actually echo each other. Seemingly conformist people actually have an incredible side.

"Lisbon Night Train" writes that Gregorygris resolutely ran away and took a train to Lisbon to explore the life course of the writer Prado. Unlike the son of a poor railroad worker, Prado was of noble blood and from a privileged family. However, at his father's expectations, he became a good son and a good doctor against his will. Chinese writer Wu Qishi wrote in her debut novel "Silent Confession": "We spend our whole lives to get rid of the expectations of others and find our true selves. Prado could have been the person he wanted to be, but he spent his life fighting against the true desires of his heart for the expectations of others. The author borrows Prado's pursuit in life to write about Goriegris's search for Prado, in fact, he wants to write about two people who seem to be different countries and different times and different circumstances to explore the loneliness, language and humanity in the journey of life.

The author of Lisbon Night Train is the Swiss novelist and philosopher Pascal Messier. The book is divided into four chapters, from the beginning, the encounter, to the attempt, and finally the return journey. Messier uses the advancement of reality and flashbacks of memories to discuss the unruly in a lonely life. From a life of calm waves, to the narration and examination of participants in a person's life from their respective perspectives, pieced together and restored the life of a deceased person. Prado wrote: "The meaning of life is not in how to live, but in how to conceive of life." "It's a grand narrative that starts with tiny individuals.

I prefer the section about Prado to Golegris. Through reading Golegris's search and then through Golegris's understanding, the reader gradually becomes clear about the character of Prado. Goregris restored Prado's life and better painted a circle for his own life. When reading "Lisbon Night Train", the whole text is delicately written and more inclined to personal feelings. Compared with the thrilling, ups and downs of other works, the book is more delicate and silent. Messier is clearly a good author, whether it's the encounter at the beginning of the story, or the whim of Golegris, or his unplanned journey that quickly moves the reader in his own whispering language. This is a more philosophical work, the train to Lisbon corresponds to life like a train with no return journey, and the search for life is the theme of the work. Golegris visits Prado's life and also finds his own life. Prado's silence and anguish correspond to Golegris's memories. Prado's love and hatred for his father also correspond to Golegris's own relationship with his father. Every day he wears old clothes, does not have a TV at home, does not care about the bank account, but is a middle school teacher who has a lot of money and lives a very boring life, goregris, it seems that his life has been derailed by the impetus of a strange Portuguese woman, but in fact, he has the desire to derail, but he has been buried. When he saw the life of Prado, who mirrored each other, Golegris eventually found himself.

"It was full of sixpence, and he only saw the moon." How similar is a lonely and clear life!
