Volunteers make "SPA" for Star Bay Baths

The 2021 Fifth National Beach Cleansing Public Welfare Activity Dalian Station Concentration Day activity with the theme of "Guarding the Beautiful Shoreline, We Act Together" was recently launched at the Star Bay Baths. This is the main venue and sub-venue activity of the fifth national beach cleaning public welfare activity that the city has continuously undertaken since 2017. Nine firefighters from the Fire Rescue Detachment of Yibin City, Sichuan Province, who were conducting diving training and learning in Dalian, appeared at the event, diving to salvage seabed garbage, which became a highlight of the concentrated day activity.

At the launching ceremony, representatives of primary school environmental protection volunteers read out the "Ocean Guardian Proposal", and the organizer presented awards to the representatives of the winners of the Marine Recycling Arts and Crafts Competition, and awarded the "Ocean Guardian" medal to the representatives of environmental protection volunteers.

Representatives from all walks of life and environmental protection volunteers in our city carried out the investigation and beach cleaning activities of beach, sea surface and seabed garbage on behalf of more than 80 people, made a "full body SPA" for the Star Bay Baths, and publicized the knowledge of marine ecological environmental protection to the public.

The reporter learned from the Dalian Environmental Protection Volunteer Association that in the 2021 Beautiful Ocean Public Welfare Action Dalian Station activities, the city organized a series of marine ecological environmental protection public welfare activities, of which 14 beach garbage removal and investigation activities, 1 seabed garbage removal and investigation activity, 7 microplastic garbage investigation activities, 14 marine ecological environmental protection publicity and education lectures, and 2 marine environmental protection public visit activities.
