According to the Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Professor Yang Tianen of Shanghai Medical College (formerly Shanghai Medical University) of Fudan University unfortunately passed away on December 23, 2020 at the age of 89.

Yang Tianen served as the deputy secretary-general of the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Sessions of the Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and the secretary-general of the 8th Council. She has been engaged in the work of the Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for a long time, put forward the concept of the development of many societies and implemented active and effective management methods, which has made great contributions to promoting the healthy and orderly development of the Society, and has also made a lot of efforts to establish the journal "Chemistry of Life" sponsored by the Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
