Empress Fu and Emperor Xian were a couple of tribulations who experienced wars, famine and flight

The Empress Fu incident had been exposed long before Xun Yu's death, but Cao Cao had not been able to cause it. It was not until November of the nineteenth year of Jian'an (214), after the completion of various political reforms, that Cao Cao made this matter public. A letter written by Empress Fu, the wife of Emperor Liu Xie, was published many years ago, in which Empress Fu expressed her dissatisfaction with Cao Cao in fierce language and asked her father, Fu Quan, who was then a lieutenant of the Tun Cavalry, to try to get rid of Cao Cao.

The vast majority of people are unaware of this matter, and as soon as the letter was published, it stirred up huge waves in the political arena, and the Dong Cheng incident more than ten years ago is still fresh in people's minds, and the status and influence of Empress Fu are far greater than Dong Cheng's daughter Dong Guiren. Empress Fu's name was Fu Shou, she was 35 years old this year, one year older than Tianzi, and she was a native of Dongwu County, Lang Evil County, Yuzhou Thorn History Department. Dongwu County is now the city of Shandong Province, and the local Fu clan was a famous family of scriptures in the Han Dynasty, a famous and prestigious family, and many prominent officials and eunuchs in the past. Fu Shou's father, Fu Quan, was the eighth grandson of the former Grand Duke Fu Zhan, hereditary marquis, and later married Liu Hua, the princess of Yang'an, the daughter of Emperor Huan of Liu Zhi, and was Emperor Huan's son-in-law.

As early as the first year of Chuping (190), Fushou was elected to the imperial palace and began as a nobleman, and was made empress in the second year of Xingping (195), when she was only 16 years old. She accompanied Emperor Xiandi through the most painful and difficult time in Chang'an, and suffered a lot on the way back to the east. Once, Emperor Xian's troops were pursued by Li Dai's army, and the people around them fled in all directions, only Empress Fu and a few others, they were forced to a river, Emperor Xiandi was frightened and did not dare to cross the river, Empress Fu carried Emperor Xiandi across the river, only to reach the other side of the river.

Crossing the river and encountering the rebels, the gang raised their swords and were about to slash indiscriminately, and at the critical moment, Empress Fu fell on the body of Emperor Xiandi and shouted: "Long live Your Majesty!" It was Empress Fu's bravery that saved Emperor Xiandi from death, but Emperor Xiandi's foot was injured, and Empress Fu tore her clothes to wipe his blood and bandage his wounds. Therefore, Empress Fu and Emperor Xian were a couple in distress, they experienced military turmoil, famine and flight, and then slowly stabilized in Xu County.

Empress Fu's father Fu Quan was initially worshipped as an auxiliary general and enjoyed the treatment of the Three Dukes, but compared with Dong Guiren's father Dong Cheng, he did not have any real power in his hands, thus avoiding Dong Cheng's fate. Fu Quan was well aware of his situation, so he offered to resign from the army, was reappointed as the Zhongshan Doctor, and later changed to the tun riding lieutenant, which was one of the commanders of the five battalions of the Northern Army, and was originally a pivotal role, but at this time, the defense work of Xu County was controlled by the concubine troops sent by Cao Cao, and Fu Quan's position could only be a pseudonym.

However, in November of the nineteenth year of Jian'an (214), Cao Cao mysteriously took out the letter written by Empress Fu and brought out this old incident. As mentioned earlier, this matter involved Xun Yu, and the reason why Cao Cao was able to obtain this letter was related to the whistleblowing of Fan Pu, Fu Quan's wife and brother-in-law. Fan Puqi's person is unknown, and Fu Quan's wife is the daughter of Emperor Huan, so Fan Pu may be another son-in-law of Emperor Huan.

Cao Cao turned over this old case in order to crack down on Emperor Xian, who forced Emperor Xian to depose the empress, and Emperor Xian had no choice but to disobey his heart: "Empress Fushou was born in a humble background, and the position of ascending to the throne of honor was in the harem, and she had neither virtuous virtue nor beautiful talent, but she secretly harbored jealous thoughts, harbored evil intentions, and could not accept the mandate of heaven and serve the ancestors." Cao Cao ordered The Imperial Counsellor Xi Xi to go to the harem with the emperor's relics and edicts to announce the decision to Fushou, confiscate Fushou's seals, and forcibly move her out of the Middle Palace and live in another palace.
