Universities and colleges are one of the most important gathering places for Shanghai artists, and artists in colleges and universities serve their respective goals of art education while basing themselves on the art itself and immersing themselves in the most extensive artistic creation practice. Since modern times, Shanghai has been the first place for art education in the Kaihai school. Shanghai Qunyi Museum Chen Di's series of works on the sea living room present a variety of Shanghai living room scenery, including fashionable modern decoration, as well as the real scene of "trance in the world" in the old house in the countryside. It is worth mentioning that this series of works, a change in the past Chen Di's good use of black and white gray tones, the picture appears brighter and lighter. "Perhaps it is also a manifestation of my mood change, I now live in Shanghai, rooted in Shanghai, I want to record the current state of Shanghai's living room, the living room is the façade of each home, but also the epitome of life." They gather the characteristics of an era, and perhaps it will be more meaningful to look back at these works in a decade or two. Chen Di said that he will continue to carry out this series as a long-term creative direction for himself.

Artist Wang Xiaoshuang's "City of Memory" and other works start from self-subjectivity and create some imagery "monsters" that exist in the mind. "This exhibition has received strong support from Nanxiang Town, Jiading District." Curator Luo Weimin told the surging news on the spot, "Nanxiang Town is a thousand-year-old town with deep historical and cultural accumulation due to the temple, and the town still preserves the ancient well of Xiaoliang built in the Southern Dynasty period and the brick pagoda of the temple during the Five Dynasties and the Northern Song Dynasty. Since the Ming and Qing dynasties, the ancient town has been full of famous artists, including Li Liufang, one of the four gentlemen of Jiading in the Ming Dynasty, Wu Zhipan, a famous bamboo carving artist in the Qing Dynasty, and Lu Yushao, a contemporary Chinese painter, all from Nanxiang. In modern times, with the rise of Shanghai, the 'Hai School', represented by Ren Bonian, Wu Changshuo and other artists, has become one of the most important painting schools in modern China. In this context, in addition to traditional art, we bring art categories including oil painting, watercolor, installation and comprehensive materials to Nanxiang, so that more artists can gather here to create and display, which I think is very meaningful for the development of culture and art in Nanxiang Town. ”
