In the early morning of July 29, 1942, several cars of the Japanese Military Police Command suddenly came in front of the luxurious mansion at No. 34 Yihe Road in Nanjing, and after a series of rapid slamming of the doors, knocked on the door of the mansion.
Subsequently, a group of Japanese gendarmes did not say hello, brazenly broke into the mansion, and took a young man in his early thirties directly away without greeting anyone.

The owner of the mansion was very unhappy, which was a blatant contempt for his authority, because the mansion was not ordinary, but the official residence of wang Jingwei, the president of the puppet National Government. The Japanese went to the door to pick people up without saying hello, but they did not pay attention to him at all, which made him both angry and embarrassed.
What made Wang Jingwei feel even more frightened was that the young man who was captured by the Japanese was his personal translator and secretary, who was deeply trusted and appreciated by him. But Wang Jingwei still maintained a bit of sobriety and calmness, and he believed that the Japanese would not break into his home for no reason and arrest people, which was not simple.
However, unlike Wang Jingwei's reasoning, his wife Chen Bijun was a well-known humble woman, who had always been full of pride, very dissatisfied with the rude behavior of the Japanese, very angry, and shouted: "What do the Japanese really want to do?" Do you know what this place is? ”
Chen Bijun could not swallow this breath, plus he had a very good impression of this very capable young man, and repeatedly asked for someone from the Japanese side.
Who was this captured translator and secretary? Is he really an agent of some faction lurking around Wang Jingwei?
1. Wang Jinyuan, who has Japanese ancestry
The personal translator of Wang Jingwei, who was captured by the Japanese, is very interesting, he himself is half Japanese, because his mother is Japanese, and he himself is indeed a Communist Party member, or an intelligence officer praised by Zhou Enlai, who belongs to the intelligence system led by Pan Hannian.
Wang Jinyuan's immediate boss in single-line contact was Ji Gang, who worked under Pan Hannian along with Wu Chengfang, Gao Yuan, Xu Qiang, Qian Ming, and others. In June 2002, when the reporter interviewed Qian Ming, an old senior in the intelligence industry, Qian Lao, who was already 87 years old at the time, still maintained a very good memory.
The old man recalled: "Wang Jinyuan's direct line is Ji Gang, and Ji Gang's leader is Xu Qiang, after Xu Qiang was transferred, it was Wu Fangcheng who took over the work, and Wu Fangcheng's superior was Pan Hannian."
Pan Hannian
Wang Jinyuan's father, Wang Zhongqing, studied at the law department of Meiji University in Japan in his early years, and during his studies, he met Ohashi Pair of Tokyo Art College, and the two fell in love with each other and eventually married. In 1909, the two had a love affair, and at that time, the newborn child was named Toshio Ohashi.
A year later, the two returned with their children to Wang Zhongqing's hometown of Wu County, Jiangsu Province, where Wang Zhongqing's home was a Wang family, and his eldest brother was also a minister in Austria during the Qing Dynasty and was also a person who had seen the world. Seeing the return of his brother's family, the eldest brother was very happy and personally gave his nephew the Chinese name Wang Jinyuan.
Growing up in such a big family would have been a very fortunate thing, but the world was unpredictable, and when Wang Jinyuan was nine years old, his father unfortunately passed away. It is difficult for a Japanese woman with a child to make a stable living in a large family with a large population, and there are more than thirty uncles and uncles of Wang Jinyuan alone, and in desperation, Ohashi has to take Wang Jinyuan to Shanghai to make a living.
When Wang Jinyuan was thirteen years old, Ohashi, who was overwhelmed by life, sent his son to his home in Tokyo, and asked Wang Jinyuan's uncle and aunt to take care of him. Children as young as thirteen years old live a very difficult life under the fence of a foreign country, and are often insulted and excluded because of their status as Chinese.
This period of years and experiences that cannot be looked back has also cultivated Wang Jinyuan's strong national self-esteem, and after tasting the cold and warmth of the world, Wang Jinyuan's heart is very eager and loving for the motherland, which also lays a solid foundation for his later work.
2. Before joining the Party, he has made many meritorious achievements
It was not until he was twenty years old that Wang Jinyuan was picked up by his mother from Japan, and soon after, the mother and son lived in Shanghai. Because he lived in Japan for many years, Wang Jinyuan was also able to speak fluent Japanese, which made him only attend elementary school, but still had a very big advantage at the time.
At his mother's introduction, Wang Jinyuan, who was fluent in Japanese, went to work as a scribe at an institution called the Shanghai News Agency. In the 1920s and 1930s, Japan was eyeing China and had always been delusional about launching a war, invading China's land and plundering resources, and did a lot of intelligence work to this end, sending a large number of spies and spies.
The "Shanghai News Agency" is one of the points for collecting and transmitting intelligence, and the founder is Toshio Rimori. While working at this news agency, the young Wang Jinyuan was very clever, and he discovered that behind this seemingly ordinary news agency stood the Mantetsu Investigation Office in The Northeast and the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
Mantetsu Survey Building
What caught Wang Jinyuan's attention was that the manuscripts mimeographed by his hand often had internal documents about the activities of the Chinese Communist Party, which made Xiang Jinyuan have an extra eye and eventually discovered the background secret of the news agency.
Outside of work, a Japanese journalist named Hirotoshi Teshima often likes to come to the news agency and chat with Wang Jinyuan. Wang Jinyuan still had a very good impression of this Japanese, thinking that he was different from other Japanese who flaunted their might and stood tall.
During a chat, Wang Jinyuan inadvertently mentioned that the news agency often had intelligence documents about the Communist Party, and the speaker was unintentional, and the listener was intentional. Hiroshi Teshima was surprised to hear this and quickly reported the situation to the Central Special Branch. In the end, after a careful investigation by the organization, it was determined that a district party secretary surnamed Zhou had become a traitor and provided intelligence to Japan through Theatoshi Himori's news agency. Tomoo Hinata sold the information to the Japanese military for a handsome reward.
It turned out that although Hirotoshi Teshima was Japanese, he was also a secret member of the Japanese Communist Party of China developed by the Central Special Branch, and an intelligence officer of our party.
Intelligence officer of the Central Special Branch
Unconsciously, Wang Jinyuan made a great contribution to the party organization, and he was not even a member of the Communist Party at this time. What is surprising is that Wang Jinyuan soon made a contribution to the party again, and finally realized the change of fate and truly embarked on the road of revolution.
Because Ri Sen Huxiong had a bad temper and liked to beat and scold people, Wang Jinyuan was not willing to be insulted by the Japanese, so he left the "Shanghai News Agency" and instead entered the work of the "Ri Ye Society" introduced by others.
This "Nichiren Society" was also founded by the Japanese, and its nature is almost the same as that of Himori Torao's "Shanghai News Agency", and the founder is named Shimizu. Unlike Ri Sen Huxiong, although he is also a scribe, Qing Shui has equipped Wang Jinyuan with a bicycle that he can use to deliver materials, which is also more humane.
However, wang Jinyuan soon discovered that Qing Shui himself was a secret agent, and he also had a lover, who often used this lover to collect intelligence about the Nineteenth Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army. Wang Jinyuan was very disgusted by such behavior, and it did not take long before he resigned again, and also told Hirotoshi Teshima about this situation.
At this time, Wang Jinyuan did not know that although Teshima was Japanese, he was still a Communist Party member, and he only trusted Teshima very much and believed in him. After resigning again, Wang Jinyuan later went to work at the "Jiangnan Daily Preparatory Office" on the recommendation of Teshima.
To Tejima's surprise, Wang Jinyuan once again learned of the movements of Japanese agents and told him this information, and Wang Jinyuan once again made meritorious contributions to the party.
Because Wang Jinyuan has lived in Japan since he was a child for many years and his accent is very pure, some Japanese people still think that he is their compatriot and are basically defenseless against him. At work, Wang Jinyuan met a Japanese named Rigao, who actually said during a chat that he was going to Ruijin in the Central Soviet District.

Wang Jinyuan once again reported the incident to Hirotoshi Teshima, who identified Hidaka as a secret agent sent by the Japanese Navy to lurk in Ruijin. It can be said that during that period, Wang Jinyuan made contributions to the party organization one after another, comparable to a real intelligence officer, and also attracted the attention of the organization.
Later, when Hirotoshi Teshima left Shanghai, he introduced Wang Jinyuan to Ryūo Shiri, also a Member of the Japanese Communist Party, a legendary agent who fought in the heart of the enemy.
Under the influence of Siriko, Wang Jinyuan finally joined the Communist Party of China in 1936 and began a legendary life.
Third, break into the Wang Mansion and become a confidant
At the beginning of 1938, Wang Jinyuan was ordered to break into the pseudo-Shanghai Municipal Secretariat, and the pseudo-Shanghai Avenue Municipal Government at that time had just been established, and it was in need of all kinds of talents to join. Wang Jinyuan also successfully broke into the pseudo-government by virtue of his proficiency in Japanese and his mother's social background.
1939 Shanghai puppet government celebration
Wang Jinyuan's mother, who lived in Shanghai for many years, had a degree, was proficient in Chinese and Japanese Chinese, was quite social, and later worked as a translator for the director of the Education Bureau of the Shanghai puppet government. With this layer of relationship, Wang Jinyuan can naturally smoothly enter the work of puppet government.
During this period, Wang Jinyuan successively worked in many departments, giving people the impression of "traitors", and this also became his protective color, enabling him to use the cover of his identity to obtain important information for the party organization and complete the tasks assigned by the organization.
As Wang Jinyuan flourished in the puppet government, he also became acquainted with Wang Jingwei's confidant, the Japanese translator Zhou Longxiu, which also laid the foundation for him to eventually successfully infiltrate Wang Jingwei's side. Because Wang Jinyuan himself is half Japanese, he is also very decisive and sophisticated, and he can speak fluent Japanese, which is naturally concerned and favored by Zhou Longxiu.
In March 1940, the nanjing puppet nationalist government was established with the support of the Japanese, and Zhou Longyu also became the vice minister of foreign affairs and the director of the Asia Department of the puppet government, and the work began to become busy, and it was difficult to take into account the work of translating for Wang Jingwei.
To this end, Wang Jingwei also urgently needs a reliable translator to help him deal with his daily work, this person must not only be proficient in Chinese and Japanese, but also loyal and reliable, and reliable, and only in this way can it meet Wang Jingwei's employment needs. Because in the environment at that time, both the military commander and the central government wanted to infiltrate or assassinate Wang Jingwei.
Wang Jingwei stills
Zhou Long thought about it and finally decided to recommend Wang Jinyuan to Wang Jingwei's side. On the one hand, because Wang Jinyuan's mother is Japanese, and he still lives and grows up in Japan, which is very trustworthy, on the other hand, Wang Jinyuan himself has good quality, is extremely sophisticated, and has language advantages, and is fully qualified for this job.
What's more, Zhou Longyu's stage of working with and getting along with Wang Jinyuan is also very appreciative of this person, and he believes in his own vision. As a result, Wang Jinyuan also successfully entered the Wang Mansion by relying on his own efforts, broke into Wang Jingwei's side, and gradually became his trusted confidant.
Wang Jinyuan's arrival will naturally be investigated, but his polite posture, cautious and old-fashioned personality without words, and meticulous and personable style have won the favor of Wang Jingwei and Chen Bijun. After secretly investigating and confirming that he had no problems, the two were very satisfied with the young man and extremely appreciative.
The second row left is rumbled
In the end, Wang Jinyuan gained a firm foothold in the Wang puppet regime and gained deep trust. During the two years that Wang Gongguan was lurking, Wang Jinyuan passed on a lot of precious and valuable information to the party organization, and even won the praise of Premier Zhou Enlai.
Because Wang Jingwei regarded him as a confidant, he would take him with him everywhere he went, which also gave Wang Jinyuan access to many important secrets. During his visit to Tokyo and puppet Manchukuo, Wang Jinyuan also met with many Japanese and puppet high-ranking officials, and he also paid great attention to cultivating and strengthening relations with these high-level and their surroundings in order to obtain more valuable information.
In that special era, the amount of information provided by Wang Jinyuan, the accuracy, the high quality, the confidentiality were amazing, and the value of it was immeasurable.
The infamous "Outline for the Adjustment of Japan-China Relations" treaty was transmitted by Wang Jinyuan to Yan'an, and this information was also affirmed and praised by Zhou Enlai. And this traitorous treaty was used by Wang Jingwei to curry favor with the Japanese. When the Communist Party of China made this traitorous treaty public, it immediately aroused the public indignation of the people of the whole country and even aroused international public opinion.
In later years, when elderly Qian Ming was again asked how to evaluate Wang Jinyuan's contribution, he once said: "If an intelligence officer can have a piece of intelligence praised by the Central Committee or Premier Zhou Enlai, this merit is enough to be recorded in history."
Fourth, he was finally released after going through hardships
Intelligence work is full of dangers, there is a risk of exposure at any time, it can be said that dancing on the tip of the knife, the slightest carelessness, may be doomed.
Due to the exposure of the legendary Soviet intelligence officer Sorge, it soon caused a chain reaction of the entire line, the secretary of the Japanese prime minister and the Ryūfu Siri, who had already infiltrated the headquarters of the Japanese army invading China, were arrested by the enemy, and the Japanese army also directly arrested Wang Jinyuan at the Wang Mansion, along with Chen Yifeng, the interview director of the Wang Pseudo Central News Agency.
After they were captured, they were taken to Tokyo by the Japanese and imprisoned in Sugamo Prison, where they were soon sentenced to death by a wartime court.
Wang Jinyuan is deeply appreciated by Chen Bijun, as Wang Jingwei is a wife, Chen Bijun's power is also quite large, plus she has a heavy desire for power, and she cannot tolerate the provocation of others. The Japanese are so ruthlessly good at arresting people in the mansion, she is absolutely unwilling to swallow this evil breath, even if it is Japanese, Chen Bijun also dares to throw a trick. Wang Jingwei may also have to take care of the so-called decency and dignity, but she wants to throw a woman, and even the Japanese dare not really do anything to her.
Chen Bijun
Of course, Chen Bijun is not blindly playing tricks, if Wang Jinyuan is really found to have a problem, the evidence is conclusive, and it is useless for her to sprinkle it again. But the crux of the matter is that even if Wang Jinyuan and others are severely tortured in Japanese prisons and subjected to all kinds of inhuman torture, they always grit their teeth and refuse to admit death.
Since there was no direct evidence, the Japanese did not convince Chen Bijun.
Under these circumstances, Chen Bijun repeatedly sent people to the Japanese government to ask for people, and also asked that several people be "extradited back to China." The facts of the case involved Wang Jingwei's personal translator and secretary, and the Japanese could not really execute Wang Jinyuan without conclusive evidence, after all, they also needed the help of the Wang puppet government.
At Chen Bijun's insistence, the Japanese government, in order to appease the Wang puppet regime and also give Chen Bijun and Wang Jingwei face, put pressure on the special high school, so that Wang Jinyuan was finally sent back to Shanghai by the Japanese in April 1943 and sentenced to indefinite.
But even so, it was not over, Chen Bijun always believed that this matter was a malicious provocation by the Japanese, a very humiliating thing, so he kept an eye on the Japanese side and cried out for Wang Jinyuan, which also caused several people to be escorted back to Nanjing in July 1943, but they were still imprisoned in the prison of the Japanese gendarmes.
After entering 1944, with the rapid changes in the world situation, the Japanese authorities also felt that the future was bleak and began to seek dialogue with the New Fourth Army. In the end, thanks to the efforts of the New Fourth Army, Wang Jinyuan and Chen Yifeng returned to the embrace of the organization on May 30, 1945, and were finally reassigned to the heavy responsibility after being strictly examined by the organization.
After that, Wang Jinyuan continued to fight on the great and hidden front, making outstanding contributions to the cause of the revolution. In 1992, Wang Jinyuan died in Shanghai, completing his legendary and extraordinary life.
